This is just off the top of my head

- Palmieri OT winner at home which was pretty much his first real Devils moment
- Tootoo accusing Burrows of saying racist stuff about his family
- Farnham fighting Virtanen and getting chirped by Prust on twitter
- Zajac getting pushed from behind and crashing into the boards
- Hall laying a massive hit behind the net and getting attacked by players disregarding the body laying on the ice
- sick Zajac backcheck leading to Hall OT winner in Vancouver

while I generally agree with Hall’s sentiments about this road trip proving the competitive level of the team, I think it’s a bit early to say that what the team shows now defines what it will show in March. I fully agree that two points now are worth the same as at the end of the season. I just think that this version of the Devils is very young and still feeling its way and won’t hit its potential until later in the season when the Zachas and Nicos realize how good they actually can be. As good as Bratt has been in theory both Nico and PZ should be better players than him.

Agreed in general. That said I’m not willing to agree a mediocre road trip now dooms them going forward. It’s just too early and this team has more maturing to do. Look at Hal, he’s become a publicly vocal and forceful leader for the first time that I can see. That takes time and other guys will buy in if the young players hold up and provide spark and energy. As good as the team is now I expect it to be better once Zajac returns (and the rest of the team is healthy).

2.) Burrows is a dirtbag of the highest order
