I really want Foote to get as many looks as possible heading into next year. People I think just got wrapped up in the idea that he would jump into the league right away since he was a central piece in the Coleman trade, but some guys take some more time and I feel that's especially true for power forward type players like Foote.

He's always had a good shot, the question has been about the skating. In a perfect world, he's your guy in house that can replace Wood and maybe even get to a point where he can replace his offense.

I think there's a few things going on with Foote and the perception of him among Devils fans - first, that the Devils didn't draft him, second that he had kind of a down year last season in Utica.

I missed last night's game but to me the question with guys like this is always the small-area plays. If Foote doesn't have the speed, that's fine, as long as he can keep plays alive along the boards and chip in a few goals around the net. There's always going to be a spot in this league for guys like Pat Maroon - it might not be as high up in the lineup as it once was, but it'll always be there.

Sure as hell hope so!!

where is @glenwo2 tonight. My god this is Jespers revival!

I had said I made it a habit of DVR'ing Devils games and then looking at the final score that determine whether I should watch or not.

If the Devils won, I would watch.

If not, I would just watch the highlights of our goals or positive plays and that's it.

But I always make sure I do NOT know who scores the goals so there were no "spoilers" for me when I watched the game.

BTW, I'm glad I was not in here with all the spoilers. LOL!!

Very thrilled that Bratt finally got it.

Very disappointed that Bill Spaulding missed a golden opportunity to say "And Bratt with the BRATT TRICK!".

He instead says the vanilla "Hat trick". C'mon, Bill! smh.

I think draft position too. You see he was a first rounder with solid numbers in junior, and kind of expect him to produce, especially in the AHL. But he really does just seem to be the kind of player that plays better in a role in the NHL. If he settles into the lineup as a bottom six guy who understands his role, uses his size well, and can pot 10 goals or so…that’s a nice player we have.

Missed the game yesterday but I’m telling you, Foote is a player. It would be a different look to the 4th line but I think the stats could end up being as good or better.
He looked a lot stronger than I remembered. I’m sure he’s north of 200 pounds now. He could really take the sting out of losing Zetterlund if he turns out to be a player.

Wow did Bratt fire his agent this morning or something? The man stepped up in a playoff intensity game. More of this please when the real thing begins.

If this team had the defensive consistency and goaltending of Boston we’d be right there with them.
Either he did that or......dare I say it?

His agent and Fitz had come to an agreement and Bratt was informed in-between Periods 1 and 2!!!! :jump:

Why was this typed in italics?
It was an accident.

I typed that during the game and the page was lagging and I kept frantically thumbing my phone and thumbed that on accident before typing the post.

I even tried to fix it, but phone service at sporting events is so terrible. I’ve been told the phone signal gets weak because there’s so many people in such a small space using their phones/internet. And it definitely doesn’t have any problems in the pregame.

Eichel had a hat trick in his game yesterday and went through the pile of hats and tossed one that he liked to one of the guys on the bench lol.

I guess players rummaging through the hats and picking ones out after their hat trick is a new thing.

I’ve always liked Nolan and there’s been times where I’ve been annoyed when someone that wasn’t him was called up instead.

Hopefully he’s the Wood replacement and he’ll come at closer to league minimum than anything.

So I guess he’s a Jersey guy that was traveling down here to see the games?

Like I said, this dude was sitting a few rows in front of me at the Panthers game. I didn’t see him last night. He had the same Bratt short sleeve or cut off jersey on, but he had the hat hat and a different pair of sunglasses on, which I don’t think he ever took off that night.

He was definitely a little goofy at times, like the two consecutive let’s go Brandon chants in the 1st period.

He was also acting a little bit loaded at times, but I never seen him drinking anything. May have just been his personality.

Player stalking is weird. The most I’ll go is watching the team bus pull into the building or driving by the team hotel and making a u turn out of there lol.

Well that checks out…

Yup, absolute manchild. I now remember him doing that at Devil games. Thought he looked familiar, it just clicked. Imagine having no personality or a life where you have to do that at sporting events.

I went to the dentist today, and the taste of blood and burnt bone in my mouth made me want to eat shish kebab after the reception.

May be he will find something tasteful in his market adventure. Even if technically it will be unsightly from our point of view..
Blood at the dentist is somewhat common but burned bone? What sort of dentist are you going to? Does he have a barber pole outside his shop and apply leaches to extract the ill humours?

My mouth hurts a little bit today. Like my wisdom tooth that was supposed to be removed close to 30 years ago…..

That starts to happen when I’m getting sick. I probably caught something at the Panthers game I’m thinking. I think it’s called the I’m tired of watching Sunrise chokejobs flu. I’m sure it didn’t come from last night in Tampa lol.

I’ve put about 3600 miles on my RAV4 since October of 2021 and over 1500 of them have come going to Sunrise and back three times since then.

I would say it’s my daily driver, but it isn’t my only driver. I only have a few mile commute to work and the few close friends I have locally live either in my neighborhood or in the neighborhood where I work.

It has over 164k now, all from me in 13 years, but I put fewer miles on it now than ever.

I had a removal of calculus - teeth are polished there. Hence the smell.
Well, in addition, for good luck, so that the procedure goes well, the chicken's head is cut off, the instruments are watered with her blood, and then the remain of chicken is burned. The smell of burnt bone is palpable. But they are specialists - I don't mind.
