Can't really compare from then and kk was still developing and playing very sparatically. I know I'm prob the only one on this board but not only do I think kk will be a starter after this contract ends, I think he has more success then cory.
I don't think he will be, because here's what happens. When a backup becomes a starter somewhere, they almost ALWAYS experience a drop off in play, due to starting more and a larger sample size and more opportunities to have a shitty game, whether it's their own or because the team lets them down and they get a little unlucky.
There's so many examples of this. Talbot has been good for Edmonton, but he hasn't maintained the level of play from his backup days as a Ranger. Martin Jones probably won't repeat his rookie season, even though he also had a crappy sophomore season as a backup. Antti Raanta? He's already seen a drop off from his backup numbers.
Even our very own Cory Schneider. He was like a .930 goaltender as a backup/1b in Vancouver, he's dropped off when playing a lot more games and becoming the starter.
So if Kinkaid is only a .915 backup, I doubt he's a .915 starter.
