I'm sure this has been said already and the other GDT is closed anyway, but Marty was great last night. His passing really opened up the game when we were down 3-1.

News and notes made my early morning. Well done.

My first thought was, "can we pay Clarkson in beer?"

Grabner and his breakaways---ROTFLMFAO! I put the Clarkson goal stat in the WTF? thread on the main NHL Talk forum.

Just contain Tavares and Moulson.

We've usually done a good job of containing Tavares, but I agree, shutting him down is key. He will probably see a lot of Greene-Larsson.

That's a good picture of the arena lol.

You forgot our 82345th matchup this season (actually 4th in 15 games, which is insane enough...only one more after today though).

btw I happened to look at the Isles' game thread for the hell of it, the first stat the op posted in their game thread jumped off the page:

The Devils have more wins at Nassau Colliseum this season (2-0) than the Islanders (1-5).

Fayne needs to clean up some areas of his game per DeBoer.

He did have that terrible turnover that led to the Flyers 3rd goal last night and wasn't that sharp last night in general. I am okay with this move.

I don't get why DeBoer is scratching Fayne. I guess he has to get Tallinder back in at some point, but I don't think Fayne is the guy to take out.

Well, that's odd. I think Fayne has been solid. I don't think it's a coincidence that our record without him in the lineup was dreadful, and we've been on a roll since he's been back.

Eh, I'm meh about maying Fayne the first 'punishment benching' of the year. Especially after how bad the D was the last time he was out of the lineup. He hasn't had a great week so I guess one day off isn't the worst thing in the world but still.

I guess it was kind of expected.

As bad as Volchenkov and Zidlicky are, they are very important for the games they bring even if they have minor slip-ups.

Greene, Larsson, Fayne, Tallinder all play similar games, so it's not a surprise that they took out the one whose had some bad luck recently.
