Apparently this loss mathematically eliminated Chicago from post season contention. You just hate to see it.

Wonder how they'll play tomorrow then, for that matter how will our guys come out.

Florida might have won, but our win tonight probably eliminated them from division contention.

They are 4 points back with 3 games left. We also have 1 game in hand on them.

They are at the point where they need us to lose every game in regulation for them to have a chance while they win out. They still have 2 games against Tampa left.

Likewise, our win tonight makes it tough for Tampa. 4 points back with 4 games to go, and 2 against Florida. Realistically, they probably need us to lose 3 games in regulation the rest of the way.

I think you were looking at the standings before they were updated. Florida is two points back and has played two more games than the Canes.

I thought it was 3 goals in a row for your team (This is incorrect) it's 3 goals in order no one else scoring IIRC. through the three.

I mean the math still works. Realistically, they need us to lose out. Especially considering their only games left are against Tampa on Saturday and Monday. One more win by us and they have no reasonable shot.

i'm guessing you checked the nhl app, which has had somelag lately, before it updated. (or some other site, same deal).

florida has two games left, and canes have two in hand on them.

florida doesn't play again until tampa. they have a long break and the first against tampa is the second night of a back to back for the lightning.

One thing that favors us tremendously is that Dallas is fighting for their playoff lives, holding 2 games in hand on Nashville. They must win those 2 games. And their next 2 games are against... Tampa.

That series will lead Tampa into a season-ending bloodbath against the Panthers.

If they can win all of those games, god bless ‘em.
