lol Tripp I think multi purpose arenas necessitated nets on moorings, NHL would have probably been fine with nets secured with concrete up until at least the 2000s

Nope, they have to drill into the floor either way. In ye olden days, they had a hole in the concrete where a metal rod was inserted, it would come out for resurfacing just like the rubber tubes do today.
