Not really true. Russia's been a real goaltending factory in the past 10-12 years. Which is why this is particularly disappointing.

I assume, like the NHL, cross checking the shooter into the goalie qualifies as the defender knocking the net off.

Then it should be a penalty or penalty shot.. In this case . You cant let the game run on after the goalie the net and the involved players are removed and out of play. The puck crossed the line after those things happened. That call ridicules the game
