OTD in 1981, the Winnipeg Jets concluded their regular season against the St. Louis Blues, finishing with league worst record of 9-57-14. The Jets tied the Blues 5-5 after scoring 3 unanswered goals in the third period (Peter Sullivan knotting it up with 89 seconds to play).

The hot third period finish likely contributed to Chevy not making any significant off-season moves.
