Teams aren't going to retain, it's going to cost a bit AND they'll have to move out Samsonov +. Would be easier to try in the offseason for Toronto

Samsonov is UFA, the Flames can take him and they need another goalie for the remainder of the season. I think they can fit Markstrom.

Toronto needs to get creative, like Las Vegas.

Why would the Leafs trade for Markstrom? They already have their next starter ready to go.
