Look on the bright side, 17-7-8 is a lot better than 17-15. Hooray for the loser point! Because of that, Detroit is still a "top" team in the East
In most of these shootout losses the Wings have been the better team in regulation/OT. They've been much closer to having a better record than to being 'boosted' in any way by the shootout/loser-points.Look on the bright side, 17-7-8 is a lot better than 17-15. To be fair it was Mrazek in net
Why can't Detroit win a shootout?
Because they haven't faced the Flyers in one.

Sounds like a sore loser kind of response. The shootout has been around for nearly 10 years. Teams have adapted to it, and every team practices it.

Your generalization is far from true. It's simpy just absurd.
Islanders 6-0 in the shootout, Hawks 4-1, Preds 4-1, Habs 4-1. Bad teams, huh? On the opposite end of the spectrum. Some teams at the bottom of the standings in the shootout: Flyers 0-5, Canes 0-3, Oilers 0-2.
