Robidas, Polak and Komarov seem like players who stand out and completely change this teams dynamic either by their personal play or how they effect who plays with who.

I'm not sure on the other guys as they didn't stand out to me in any way during preseason.

There's no way they'll all work out though you know? But I like what I've seen however limited.

Santo and Robidas. I think Santorelli is going to surprise people, if he plays a full season he'll give us what Raymond did last season. Speedy, can chip in 20 goals, not a liability on defense etc.

Komarov and Robidas (if healthy)

I'm pretty excited for many of our pick ups... Winnik, Santorelli, Komarov, Robidas, Polak. All great character, depth guys.

Wish I voted for Winnik now. He's going to be far more valuable than Frattin and Booth combined. Deserves at least one vote.

Imo close between Komarov and Robidas. Voted Komarov since I think he will be a bigger influence both on and off the ice with his drive and attitude.

Not new additions, but i think Rielly/Gardiner will have the biggest impact if we're comparing where on the roster we could see the biggest net improvement.

The way I see it, the gap between Robidas and Gunnar isnt huge, between Komarov and Kulemin, between Raymond and Santorelli, McClement and Winnik, etc. It's all about are they distinct UPGRADES over the players theyre replacing?

But the gap between how Gardiner/Rielly performed last season compared to this season? Could be quite big.

Komarov.
He stands out to me, in an area of great weakness that we had last year (gritty, hard-hitting forwards, good defensively). And the . . . 'enthusiasm' factor . . . this love/willingness to get one's face dirty . . . it's something that others see and feed off of and eventually begin to emulate.

Robidas - I suspect he'll be injured for good parts of the season, but certainly he'll be a valuable addition.

Winnik - I think he's right there with Robidas. I know he may only play 4th line, and occasionally the third line . . . but he's a guy on the bottom 6 who will also effectively kill penalties, and he'll be a plus defensively, from what I can see. And he's no pylon.

Kozun - I know he only just made the team, and sure, he might fade out tot he AHL by game 20 . . . but . . . I can't help but feel that it's always a good thing for a team, even if just in spirit, when a guy who was on no one's radar FORCES his way onto the team with his energetic play. It's very motivating, all-around. It's good chi!

Robidas, Komarov and Winnik will likely have the most individual impact of the new additions. Winnik and Komarov on the PK. Komarov also just injects energy into a line/team/building. Robidas brings experience, the ability to play anywhere in the lineup, and gives the team the ability to push everybody down into roles they can more easily excel in. Not to mention give Phaneuf a stabilizing presence.

However, the impact on the team will more likely be due to the depth and greater support we have this year, assuming our position depth doesn't get decimated like last year. This allows the core to play to their strengths and have the puck a lot more.

Proven veterans with actual offensive ability in our bottom-6 instead of black holes should be a big upgrade.

It is the biggest difference between bad/mediocre teams and great teams. It is one of the reasons we did so well in the lockout year. We actually had 3 lines that could score. Unfortunately for us last year, they bought out Grabovski and Bolland got injured so fast, that our 3rd line was useless. No shutdown ability. No additional scoring. Useless. And we could barely even play our 4th line it was so bad (our only good 4th liner had to be played way over his head on other lines - which also didn't help our PK)

Guy plays in 95% of possible games between 2005 and 2013, gets injured for half of a season, and suddenly he's some injury-prone geezer?

Funny how perceptions work.

Since we're talking about impact, I choose the guy who's slated to be on the top pairing (Robidas) ahead of the guy who'll be a bottom 6 forward (Komarov).

Komarov not so much on the score sheet though. He is a sparkplug who drives the opposition nuts. He was great for us in the past and will be better this time around.

Komarov...by a wide margin.

Leafs fans are going to luv him. He should be visible and impactful on every shift.
This. We already had him for a full season and saw the impact he made and he hasn't changed during the pre-season either. I believe he was the key that helped the Leafs get to the playoffs 2 years ago and I think he will be key for helping us getting there again.

I picked Robidas. That is just a pick though of a dman and the poll does not to much for the bigger picture.

Polak/Robidas or Ranger/Gunnarsson ? I would think that's a upgrade over last year.

Orr/Mc clement/Bodie/Kulemin/McLaren/and Gleason done nothing to hinge any success on.

Winnik,Booth,Kozun,Santorelli,Komarov and Percy remain to be seen but I think its a better group. Bolland to me is neither here nor there. He took the money and I don't blame him.

I am really hoping Clarkson can have a nice season in the 40 points with 15 to18 goals to replace the losses of Raymond and that Santorelli can do about a 40 points and 15 goals or so also.

There seems to be as a whole on the sum of their parts a better looking depth team to me.
