Kane unless Laine gets traded to a team where he has a different role. His goal scoring ability has been suppressed in CBJ.

They just added Gaudreau…
He'll help, but CBJ has Laine playing a 200 ft game where he's been more of a playmaker than he should be. I won't believe he'll get up to 45-50+ goals in CBJ until I see it, I believe he's fully capable of scoring like that but not in CBJ even with Gaudreau. I think Kane will get 45+ easily with McDavid if he's not suspended. Yes I know he's never even had more than 30. But playing with McDavid will do that for you... He had 35 in 58 (playoffs included) last year and no reason to think he won't do as well or better this year.

I'm not convinced that Columbus has the center depth to make full use of their wingers at this point.
On the other hand I think it's safe to say 40 goals out of Kane would be a very conservative estimate.

By goals do you mean hockey goals?

Or is this a code word for some borderline-inappropriate behavior?

Either way, it’ll be close

I think it could be Laine. He gets one of the best playmakers in the league, but then again, Kane gets the best player in the game as his running mate.

I’ll go with Kane, as he just seemed to excel with McDavid, but I think this should be close if they both play a similar number of games. Laine still paced for 38 last year without Gaudreau, and with low PP totals.

Gaudreau has a history of making everyone around him better and Columbus wants Laine to use his best asset

Laine is the better goal scorer but I think Kane is set up to succeed riding McDavids wing.

Laine with Gaudreau could be pretty lethal. Laine is also going to get a ton more PP time than Kane

I can picture Kane scoring 45-50 getting time with McDavid and Draisaitl.

I can also picture Laine scoring 40+ if he gets quality time with Gaudreau.

I think Laine has the higher ceiling, but Kane is a more safe bet in my opinion.

Easy Kane. Laine has peaked long ago and is only going downhill, Kane still has the fire and plenty of fuel in the tank.
