MVP - Krejci. It wasn’t just the points with Krejci, it was the consistency and veteran play. Need someone to calm things down? Need someone to carry the puck in deep in the last 5 minutes while protecting a lead? That was Krejci. His transition game and heady plays really helped the Bruins against the Leafs.

Goat - Moore looked completely lost at times, but I’d go with Backes. Both are deserving.

Unsung Hero - Coyle is getting a lot of praise, so I’ll go with Kuhlman. I think his speed was key to the Johansson goal in game 7. There were times in both games I saw him with the puck and thought it was Marchand for a second. Kuraly and Johansson also deserve credit.

Rask. Back to back do or die must wins.
Backes. I finally admit hes done and it kills me a little.
Charlie Mac. Big minutes. Average team high 24 minutes for series. 9 blocked shots last night.

Welcome! The water is warm!

Rask obviously
Grizz is/was AWFUL
Unsung is Kuraly saving the day. Although maybe that's not so unsung.

I don't even know who MVP was, it was a weird series. I guess Rask is as good a pick as any.

Definitely Grz for the goat. I expected it to some degree with Moore, but not with Grz.

Coyle is the easy unsung hero, think he may even have been the MVP

This is really tough for me, because so many guys had their great moments and their awful ones. Our big players didn't have a great series. Our defence was inconsistent and when push came to shove, it was *insert player at random* who really stepped up.

One solid I suppose should be Tuukka who was good at his worst and an absolute wall at his best.

Krejci as well was a three-zone force for most of the series.

And two moments/goals that stand out to me: Krejci-to-DeBrusk in Game 6 and Kuraly enforcing his will for the goal in Game 7.

Goat: I think Pasta was the biggest disappointment for me in the series. He just seemed rattled. Spastic, poor decision-making. I wonder if he'll have more space to work against the Jackets.

Also John Moore seemed... Bad.

Unsung hero is the toughest one for me. Coyle is a good choice, because he did his job almost every game and was a monster in his puck possession game (which I thought was the biggest let-down in terms of overall team play from regular season to playoffs).

But I'll go with Joakim Nordstrom, who while limited, played his game to the best of his ability and who I thought was without parallel in terms of his ability to force the Leafs into quick (bad) decisions in their transition game. His attitude and gusto also led to that big goal in Game 7 and that shouldn't be overlooked.

No MVP votes for Marchand? He led the team in goals (4), assists (5) and points (9).
haha, before I read your post above, I voted Marchand myself. He's been on fire so far. Maybe no one is noticing him as much because Bergy has been struggling and Pasta is on the line with Krejci. He's our leader in points, both goals and assists.

He wasn't mine, but I definitely considered it. I think it's a point worth highlighting though with all of the questions surrounding his post-season play the last few years.

Leads the series in points - radio silence.
Licks a few guys - all anyone can talk about.

I'm thankful for the silence.

MVP?
Brad Marchand - Led our team in every offensive category (3rd in NHL in pts) and was a threat in every situation. Led all forwards in PK ice time and TOI in general.
Honorable Mention: Tuukka Rask - 5th in sv pct for goalies and elevated his game in G6 & 7.

Unsung Hero?
David Krejci - Led our team in takeaways, was a 3zone force. 3rd on the team in scoring despite being 9th on the team in PP ice time, despite not having a RW for the first 5 games and despite DeBrusk going MIA for Games 3, 4 and 5.
Honorable Mention: Charlie McAvoy. Led the entire team in TOI at 24+, 3 minutes more than anyone else. Second on the team in plus/minus playing against Toronto's top line.

Goat?
John Moore - Team worst -4 in 4 games. Hopefully it's just rust because he was outstanding during the regular season.

MVP = Brad Marchand and Charlie Coyle

When you lead the team in scoring, you are the go-to for MVP. He was his usual elite self and a threat during the series. Add onto the fact that he played with Bergeron who was struggling, he picked up that line and made it go. I had to go with Charlie Coyle as well here. He had 4 points in 7 games (0.57 PPG) but was a force in this hole series, Game 1-7. His puck protection and play down-low was beautiful to watch. He wore down the Leafs. He didn't score in Game 1, but was seemingly one of the few Bruins who was present that game. Game 2, he got them going with a big goal after they were dominating. Hopefully he carries this strong series into this next round (and beyond). It's nice to have 3 capable centers again.

goat = David Pastrnak

He was absolutely putrid in Games 6-7. A turnover machine. I hope he gets his shit together in Rnd 2 because he is going to be needed. I will say while he was awful in this series, he still managed 6P/7GP.

Unsung Hero = Sean Kuraly and Brandon Carlo

Once again, had to go with two for this spot because I just couldn't decide. Sean Kuraly took himself a game before he really got back into it, but he solidified the 4th line in Games 6/7 when they desperately needed it. He's a big game bottom 6 player, and scored a huge goal in Game 7 as we all know. He's fun to watch, brings the playoff intensity needed and like Coyle wears down the opponent. Brandon Carlo was a workhorse in his first playoff series. He was a stud defensively, which is needed against a offensive team like the Leafs.

MVP:
Rask. He was steady all series and absolutely shut the door in game 7.
Goat:
Pasta. Hope he turns it around and it isn't an injury. (Moore a very close 2nd and I would label Chara 3rd. Chara had a tough series IMO).
Unsung:
First half of the series- Coyle. He was filling in for big time draws when Bergy wasn't at his best. His play was also dominant at times. Thought he cooled off a little towards the end of the series. But none the less a great start to the playoffs.
Second half- Kuraly. His impact was underplayed by many prior to his return. And look what he did in games 6-7. Revived the fourth line we came to love this season and he scored AGAIN.

McAvoy and Carlo are in there as well.
