Which undrafted players will the Oilers invite to camp?

Simon Stransky is a guy who hasn't been invited anywhere and went undrafted.

LW plays with Prince Albert. Czech import. More of a playmaker. Get a kind of a Hemsky vibe from him, he's creative but a little spacey.

I picked him in the mock draft. Let's bring him in and hope he goes all Tkachev on the development camp.

I would like to see Aaron Irving get an invite, but I can't remember if he's left or right. Guess it doesn't matter, he wouldn't be ready for a long time if they took him anyway.

At the deadline this year during the Purcell talks there was a rumor of us asking for Jake Marchment. After him going unsigned by the Kings and through the draft, I wonder if he'll get an invite.

Another unsigned FA I'd take a look at is Aaron Haydon. Big RHD, plays for the Niagara Ice Dogs. Good shutdown guy.

Haydon hits like a truck too. Would be a good AHL depth guy down the road, but he didn't develop his puck skills enough to think he has much in the way of NHL potential.

Didn't that Marchment deal end up actually being Nikolai Prokhorkin in the end, and he wasn't interested in coming over?

He's property of the Nashville Predators.

Does anyone know how this works exactly? Is there a limit to the invites a team can have? Once one team has invited a player can another team invite that same player and the player chooses? Is this part of the CBA and if so does anyone know what section. I would be interested to read it.....Thanks.

I think you can be invited to multiple camps. I seem to remember someone (Leveille?) being invited to multiple camps last year but chose Edmonton over the other. Didn't some other guy even attend two camps as well?

Assuming this is related to the Development Camp that will likely be held this week, here is a list of players I assume will be there that are Oilers prospects already:

Goalies
Nick Ellis(Providence, NCAA)
Zach Nagelvoort(Michigan, NCAA)
Miroslav Svoboda(Trinec, Czech)
Dylan Wells(Peterborough, OHL)

Defensemen
Ethan Bear(Seattle, WHL)
Filip Berglund(Farjestad J20, SweJ20)
Matthew Cairns(Georgetown, OJHL)
Vincent Desharnais(Providence, NCAA)
Caleb Jones(Portland, WHL)
William Lagesson(UMass Amherst, NCAA)
John Marino(Tri-City, USHL)
Markus Niemelainen(Saginaw, OHL)

Forwards
Tyler Benson(Vancouver, WHL)
Drake Caggiula(North Dakota, NCAA)
Evan Campbell(UMAss Lowell, NCAA)
Graham McPhee(USNTDP)
Aidan Muir(Western Michigan, NCAA)
Jesse Puljujarvi(Karpat, Liiga)
Aapeli Rasanen(Tappara J20, JrA Liiga)
Jere Sallinen(Jokerit, KHL)
Tyler Vesel(Nebraska-Omaha, NCAA)

Last year they brought 17 forwards, 10 defensemen and 4 goalies, so I'd imagine they go for something close to that again. My list has 9F, 8D and 4G; so I'd imagine they invite quite a few forwards and a few DMen. I'd like to see them invite Bonnyville Pontiacs D Brinson Pasichnuk, put up 65 points in 52 games in the AJHL last year to go along with 161PIM. Stat line is super interesting and he's headed to Arizona State next year, might be a chance to get a leg up on a guy who could be an interesting overage pick next June.

Also worth noting that in one of the videos posted on OilersTV Gazzolla says that medicals for this camp are scheduled for July 2, so I'd imagine we get the full list of invites tomorrow sometime. Good chance Puljujarvi won't skate at this either since he's recovering from surgery still.

Thank you for this post.

Not many forwards in the system.

Thank you for this post.

Quite a few at the AHL level. Summer camp is primarily for guys who are new to the organization, so they usually don't bring guys who have already turned pro. We've got Yakimov, Platzer, Chase, Khaira, Slepyshev, Moroz, Christoffer and Pitlick all down there who likely won't be at this camp; although Christoffer and Chase might be at the summer camp since they both spent significant time in the ECHL last season.

They can. I believe the big thing is they have to pay their own way getting here, the team cannot help. They had Lagesson, Marino, McCarron, Campbell, Vesel and Nagelvoort here last year.

What a stupid rule.

I can't buy you a plane ticket?
Even if we have signed you to your ELC?
What a stupid role. Holy cow.
I had no clue.
So does that mean they're not allowed to pay for his room and board or pay for his meals while he's there? Where do they draw the line?
Holy cow that's eye gouging.
What % of college graduates expect to turn into full time NHLers?

Holy cow.

They can't sign their ELC's.

The moment they receive a dollar from a professional club they become ineligible, I believe.

i would be. Irving just isn't that good and i'd be surprised if he ever played a game in the NHL. the Oilers shouldn't bother with him, though perhaps as an AHLer i could see?

Wouldn't you be surprised if any undrafted player plays a game in the NHL? I would be.

Also Local kid Josh Healy from Ohio State

Heres the roster for last years orientation camp.
