Funny thing... Burns didn't hit 60pts until he was 29.Points over the last 3 years. Which one of these is not like the others?
Burns (60p, 75p, 76p) is average at best defensively. 43p at age 22, top pair d-man
Subban (60p, 51p. 40p) has been a good defender from about the start. 38p at age 21, top pair d-man.
EK (66p, 82p, 71p) has improved a lot over the years defensively. 59p at age 21, top pair d-man
Dumba (16p, 26p, 34p) is getting to be average defensively. Still getting protected minutes, no major PK duties.
The 5 seasons for Burns before the 3 you listed?
20pts, 46pts, 37pts, 20pts, 48pts.
I think Dumba can be given a bit more time. He's already a 34pt 20+ min top 4 D-man, who is likely destined to be a top pairing player.
Also of note, you said PK was good from the beginning and showed he had 38pts at age 21, like it was some launchpad to stardom... but then fail to note that he had 36pts at age 22. Dumba is basically right there at age 22. 34pts vs 36pts.
