I think the correct answer is i have absolute no clue. Extremely hard to guess what it would take.
Also have to remember Price is an UFA after the 17/18 season. Is 29 and will get a huge contract.

We're talking about Bergevin, an older goalie like Lundqvist would probably be enough. Poile is probably teasing him about a Rinne for Price trade one for one as we speak. :(

A bona fide replacement starting goalie and a prospect or young player that would hurt to give up.

- top15 first pick
- A really solid prospect
- Top 6 young forward with potential

That's pretty much top rental prices.

I imagine it would cost a small fortune for someone of Price's value. We are talking about arguably the best player in the world, certainly of his position.

Probably a young replacement goalie, young top 6 forward, 1st.

Not saying Tampa would want him but value wise think vasilevski, drouin, 1st

Which is a ridiculous price to pay but the guy is unreal so it's hard to tell.

This is pretty much the basis for a trade I'd say.

Let's say one GM has gone mad and wants to trade the farm for Carey Price. what would he offer?

If Marc Bergevin is crazy enough to trade him what would be his demand?

Unless your window is win now or next year why bother? 29 years old, two years before his contract is up. You have 1-2 window to win the cup, if you can't then don't bother trading anything for him.

"What would Carey Price realistically cost?"

You think you going to get that here, with Habs fans who are desperately trying to win now and they realize their only hope is on the back of Price?

Unproven undisputed bluechip prospect
A 2 1sts
a #2 dman or a 1st line forward (good but not superstar)

Talbot , Puljujarvi , 1st 2017 and probably another plus . Too much to pay but if a team is deep enough to give up what is needed and still ice a good team he would be worth it .

There is no realistic cost.
Our entire system literally revolves around Carey Price. He is our 3rd defensemen. He controls the breakout as one arguably the best puck handling and passing goalie in the league. Add that to being the best goalie in the league on a team without a lot of firepower up front, and you can't trade him without changing your entire identity. Weber was brought in because of the defensive system we feel comfortable playing with Carey Price in net.
