Then how was Parise drafted??

If the first draft was for UFA and RFA then Parise couldnt have been picked...yet he was.

HMMM sounds Bush league.
I have no idea. That's strange. Upshall was drafted too, but he should still be on his first contract.

Maybe it was open for UFA, RFA and guys on their first contract who only played less than X amount of games or something.

Whos Ordeovich supposed to be?
Victor Oreskovich, I guess. Not exactly a common name, but Vitor Ordeovich? They could have at least gotten Victor right.

On Sunday, July 18, teams will draft 30 Entry Level Players. Players undrafted in the past 3 years or drafted but unsigned will be eligible. Sixteen year old players who will be 17 prior to the start of the WHA season will also be eligible.

Didn't the Red Wings have to sign Meech or else he would have gone back into the draft? So he's under contract with them? So he shouldn't be eligible for this draft?

What kind of shirtless circus are they running?

Nope, cause Jim Vandermeer got drafted as well and he signed a new contract with Chicago last week. It's just a sign of how disorganized this league is. :shakehead

Could Halifax be picking any worse players???

Who the hell is picking? a Monkey?
Halifax is picking realistically while other teams are picking players as if there will be a loooooooooong lockout.

Yeah realisticly but take some chances...like perhaps ALex Tanguay or Laddy Nagy in the 30th round...both of those guys would bring in people alone.

nah, detroit is doing good. most picks are safe and sometimes they pick a high risk. this franchise takes it seriously.

They're completely destroying my dreams. They're picking players that will actually show up instead of ones that will never even think twice about playing for this joke league. This means that there might actually be a team to play in Halifax. That sucks.

Oh man if this league gets off the ground I really hope that Toronto gets Crosby to play for them. It would be hilarious listening to Q fans on the prospect board ranting about how Toronto/Ontario stole Crosby from them.

OMG we just picked Vagner my worst enemy hahaha

And Vrana is signed, how did Halifax pick him??
There must be some mystery date... players not signed before it are eligible. That'd be my best guess.

Tanguay owner of the Oceanic said he would match any offer from the WHA. And Pat Brisson said its slim he will leave the QMJHL.

Plus its the WHA...its BUSH LEAGUE. There are a dozen selections which broke the rules.

I know, man. It would be just as funny to see Forsberg or Lidstrom go back to Sweden and play five or ten great years there. I'm sure we'd all be laughing at Avalanche and Red Wings fans for losing two of the best players in the game to another league.

It would be so awesome to see a seventeen year old jeopardize his development for a quick $5,000,000.

So the Oceanic can pay a 5 million dollar salary? Is that even legal?
