Yeah hopefully Joe Brady comes up with the innovation of telling the offense to stop treating the ball like it’s something that will make them sick if they hang onto it for too long.

Also: does Dorsey get fired if the Bills just have the correct amount of players on the field for the missed FG? I kind of doubt it.

Despite getting fired, Dorsey probably would not fare any better had he joined Dabbol in NYG with Jones.

It seems Allen is trying to do too much. He knows they are on thin ice with the playoff chances. He’s a lot better than how he is currently playing.

Buffalo’s lack of running game is coming back to bite them. Allen cannot be the leading rusher on the Bills, a multi purpose back can ease some of the issues the Bills have been lacking lately.

Bills, in 2023 drafted a TE, OG, and LB. 2022 went with CB, RB and LB. 2021 went DE, DE, OT.

That's been their top 3 picks the past 3 drafts. 5 defenders. 2 OL a RB and TE on O. No balance on the O. Is it just playcalling or can they not run the ball with a RB?

Play calling is a huge issue.

Was watching a couple breakdowns today and the pretty unanimous conclusion is:

1.) The Bills under Dorsey very clearly viewed shotgun as their identity and thus stayed in it a lot
2.) That meant a *lot* of shotgun run.
3.) The shotguns runs they call are extremely vanilla stuff and basically rely on everyone playing and blocking perfectly.
4.) When, unsurprisingly, that all results in the run game suffering, they abandon it and just throw the ball a bunch.

When they run out of tue shotgun they’re something line bottom 10 in the league in rush yards/play by RBs. When they run from under center they’re top 5 in RB rush yards/play.

I think he’s a lot better than this too. He can make throws that only a few QBs can. Big, strong, bazooka arm and he can run. Problem is, from the neck up, he seems lost at times. He’s a wild horse.

Was always the risk when you have a Defensive HC with a good young QB. Relying on the OC to work with him, but when you have success, likely the OC gets poached to become a HC. Allen needs solid coaching. Personality is too wild. Mahaomes can get like that too sometimes, but Reid pulls him back. That's not something McDermott can do.

From the few excerpts I saw, I never thought Devin Singletary was an utterly incompetent back when Singletary was a Bill back nor is James Cook(fumbling aside, Dalvin's little bro has a little more power but less speed). Getting a serviceable RB doesn't require much investment.

Dorsey just fell in love with the dive bombing power of Allen and the Bills basically let defenses focus on the pass while taking advantage of Josh Allen's mobility to punish man coverage. But the NFL is a all about studying tactics, and good teams have enough to stop the Bills if they don't commit to the run. The Bills can run over bad Ds on pure talent alone, but it's not going to work as well going forward. And now they have a new playcaller who might need to develop a sense of what to call.

Dorsey might have finally figured out running the ball can be lethal but too late. Now his replacement may make the same tactical mistakes.

Prior to Monday he had 1 fumble in his career and that was in his first career carry in his first career game against the Rams. Then he went 200+ carries (nearly 250 touches overall) between fumbles.
