McDavid on your team basically guarantees easy entry and set-up. All that skill is nice when they set up, but the Oilers get to spend nearly entire PP in the offensive zone due to instant set-up. Huge for them. This is probably one of the few aspects (along with speed) that Sid has lacked in his career compared to Connor.
Also Draisaitl. is 80% in faceoffs in the offensive zone on the PP this series. So generally starting with the puck and if they don't then McDavid gets the guaranteed zone entry.

Crosby has always been way more proficient defensively, but what kind of maroon would advise McDavid to shave off even a smidgen of his advantage to boost his defensive aspect.
Doesn't mean he can't and won't get a bit better defensively, but it's not the priority. You can't teach blinding speed and what it gives your team.

Might want to look up how Zadorov did against McDavid last time in the playoffs. You clowns are just like the Flames: "wait till McDavid has to go through Zadorov and Gudbranson!" And he proceeded to shred them to pieces. You guys are in for a real treat if your coach is dumb enough to think Zadorov will shut down McDavid and Draisaitl.

I don't really see why it would be Zaddy Daddy against McDavey if/when it comes to that.

Hughes-Hronek largely got the best of McDavid and the Oilers and are a far better matchup against him because Hughes is one of the few defencemen in the league who can actually somewhat skate with him.

Zadorov would be busy blowing up all the other irrelevant supporting players for the Oilers most likely.

Curious if King's can come back. Shorten that bench and go hard. Season on the line.
