Since Trotz is retired from coaching for now I hope that Korn can be persuaded to come back. It all hit the fan without KornNow bring in a #1 and a real goalie coach.
Hopefully not necessarily…..Keeping Vitek would indicate they are planning to get a no.1 or at least no.1 a.
Trading Vitek means they are only planning on getting a backup or a no. 1 b
So for that reason, I don't like the trade.
Did it ever come across that Vitek numbers made him the better trade value? I don't think Sammy has good trade value at the moment.Keeping Vitek would indicate they are planning to get a no.1 or at least no.1 a.

No it's not. Why would the Islanders trade Varly to us? A trade would be over payment and Varly doesn't have Trotz/Korn system to play in anymore.Varly returning back home is inevitable
Caps could still get a #1 goalie and Sammy backup. Sammy is only age 25. He needs some work on his maturity level, so it would do him a lot of good to humble him by learning from a vet #1. The Vitek/Sammy combo was the wrong approach from the beginning it started.Keeping Vitek would indicate they are planning to get a no.1 or at least no.1 a.
