Buffalo is obviously going through a rough time this season and they'll probably be rebuilding for the next few years here.

Olofsson is a stud. While it feels like he's younger because he broke in the league last year, he's turning 26 this summer. So he's not really in the Dahlin/Cozens/Quinn group.

Would Buffalo consider moving him as a part of the rebuild?

They should probably move him since Skinner can bring what he brings given the same opportunities and Olofsson has good trade value while they're stuck with Skinner. He's also pretty underwhelming as a two way even strength player. Very Mike Hoffman like

I have no idea what Montreal could offer, but we could trade him for the right player, but not futures/picks.

I’d love him on the Devils for the trigger man on the PP and for Nico or Hughes’ line .
What is a realistic offer ?

Hard to say. He's not worth losing for less than a 1st but that Devil's 1st is worth more than he is.

I'm curious if that's still the sentiment that many Buffalo fans and management have (then again Krueger got fired so maybe things can change?)

Where are those Sabres fans that thought Olofsson was more value than Boeser?
Was there really such a thing? Although he has good stats, but he is a PP specialist mainly, he can be kept in bottom 6 and he will still score a lot of points.

I know given his contract being way to high and kruger's odd usage of him Skinner has become the laughing stock of HFboards but he has been among our most consistent skaters all year. The effort is there and he's had a million chances he just hasn't buried (maybe Kruger got in his head to much or he got inside his own head idk). I have no problem with Skinner in our top 6 personally (granted I dont want to pay him what we are).

Skinner is flat-out better than Olofsson. VO is a better PP trigger man, but Skinner is the better hockey player.

I actually think Olofsson would trive in Minnesota (not a MIN fan) since their powerplay has really been anemic but the rest of their team has been on point and Kaprizov has been impressive as a newcomer in the NHL. They may be tempted to go for a few cup runs now since their defense is (very) good but ageing and Fiala and Kaprizov are RFA at the end of this year and Parise, Zuccarello, Suter, Spurgeon contracts won't get any better ?

Don't know MIN fans would feel about spending one of their first + for him, as a PP specialist ?

Not too interesting, it's better to look for another package. For example a winger in the top 6.

But what is the rational for a team to lose a top 6 player for a PP speacialist ? If you are good at ES and improve your PP, you won't want to make your ES weaker, right ?

It depends on the needs, if they have the resources and depth of the squad and they can replace this player in the top 6, but they do not have enough PP shooter, then why not. I see no reason for us to trade Olofsson for futures.

I'm expecting a decent deadline haul for our rentals, so we can get back to you on that.
I'd trade him for your first with no protections easy. That's not a hit on Victor as on a competent team he's probably a 30-30 guy consistently. If the Sabres are looking at cleaning up a mess though he's not a core guy for us and he's gonna get paid sooner than later and we are cap strapped. It also open up an expansion spot for us if it's for a pick straight across which has some value too.

I was interested in something around Domi for Olofsson before Domi got traded.

I wouldn't be super interested in a late first just because of this draft being weak. Id rather get a player or prospect.

I meant that I'd be willing to flip some of our rental returns for Olofsson. There's absolutely no shot I'd trade our 1st for him, protections or not. That's insane.
