He wasn't the worst, but he did get pushed around a lot and seemed to have trouble communicating. The communication factor must've been severe for them to part ways.

Oh well, Pilut, Nelson, and Borgen are fighting for that 7D slot anyway. Can't have too many, and it seemed like the AHL was never an option for Antipin anyway.

Never seemed like he gelled in America. I wonder how much of a language barrier was the issue.

What happens to his rights if the Sabres decide to qualify him?

They retain his rights I believe until 27 as long as they QO him every summer by the QO deadline. After that, he'd be eligible (which by my initial typing has a second b, no g, and three i's) to sign with any NHL team as a UFA. My thought is more to see if some other team, perhaps one with a Russian speaking segment of the team, would be interested in him and see if they can use him as part of a deal. Florida or the Rangers might be good destinations in that regard.
