Welp, Jake's gone. The conscientious objectors can have fun again!

And things oughta get fun now - the top 4 were always known, things aren't so certain afterwards.

Not a sexy pick, but I'm going Gaunce. I see him as a reliable third liner with potential to be a complimentary top 6 guy.

Gaunce

I think he's going to surprise a lot of people. He has grit and more skill to go with a long stride. Only problem is if he falls victim to the Granlund factor, who could be suited for the new Vey collar...

I voted Stecher, who I think is an absolute steal from the FA pool. DeKeyser-style.

Reckon I'll have to add Pedan in the next one, though. Since he's played some games and all.

By HF rules, I don't think he qualifies.

If a prospect is a skater (forward, defenseman) and has played in 65 NHL games or more before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday; or, if a goaltender has played in 45 NHL games before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday, that player will be considered graduated to the NHL. Conversely, if a player completes the season of his 24th birthday without passing those milestones, then that player will no longer be considered a prospect by Hockey’s Future, regardless of the player’s status with his NHL club.

He's 24 now, and his most recent season completed after his birthday.

We followed the rules on Jake, we should follow them here, too.

Tryamkin, although I'm not too high on his ceiling. Same goes for Gaunce, he'll be a NHL player, but won't live up to his first round pick status.

Holy crap, what a drop off...

First 4 are very good prospects but Tryamkin is in the same zone to me. it is very likely to me that he progresses into a top 4 dman. It would take a first round pick to trade him. I thought the same the first time I saw Tanev play as well. Where was Tanev on our prospect lists? Likely far below Schoeder Hodson Grabner etc.

Sure, but that is mostly because the top 4 are pretty damn good prospects.

Besides, Gaunce and tryamkin both already look like NHLers.

so if the top 6 of your prospect pool become NHLers I'd say it's actually quite deep.

I don't think either of them has too high of a ceiling, and bottom 6 forwards/bottom pairing d-men aren't hard to come by. But don't get me wrong, I know there's value in very good 3rd liners and #5 d-men who can fill in when a top 4 d-man gets injured.

A decent (not great) prospect pool would probably have these guys as their 8th/9th/10th best prospects.

Go look at 2011 top Canuck Prospects Tanev is 8 th but not because we have 7 great prospects above him. Hodgson Rodin shirokov schoeder connauton McNally plus couple others. Interesting Lack and Cannata were 9, 10. We really as fans have no idea. That Tryamkin was 17 last year and Hutton was what 8 last year shows all we need to know about our group think.

He should qualify by this.

European players who sign their first NHL contract at or above the age of 22 have three seasons from the time they sign that contract to meet the above criteria. Those European players below the age of 22 that have signed a NHL contract will be subjected to the criteria in section one.

Voted Tryamkin. It's between him and Subban, IMO, and Tryamkin has played games at the NHL level and not looked out of place.

Tryamkin was an easy choice for me here. Then it gets more difficult between Gaunce, Subban, and perhaps Brisbois.

Tryamkin is a very good choice. Has upside and shown an ability to play in the NHL. I went with Subban here because I really like his upside. Good feeling about him.
