I agree. This new updated title sucks and makes the trade look worse. I prefer blissful ignorance.
Ugh, really should have gotten another pick for retaining.
sorry, was there information posted to support this? How would we know if they "shopped" the trade. Which probably wouldn't have been detailed, just tell interested teams we have a deal and will be pulling the trigger later today unless someone comes up with a better offer.that's a bit concerning that they didn't shop the Islanders offer, but that matches up how they handled Miller at last TDL, sit back and wait for offers to come in and when they didn't come in pull him from the market. It does seem they don't like being aggressive and are more passive.
Looks like details from other suitors is starting to leak.

It's not like teams were caught off guard that Horvat was available. Until we hear more details about potential offers, I don't really care.
Like what if it's Boston that leaked that? They don't have a prospect or a draft pick as valuable as the ones they got from the Islanders, so there's nowhere to go with that conversation.
Fair enough. However, part of the deal might have been that the details remain confidential. The. Isles would have been pissed had the deal fallen through, and it became known the 2 players who were in the deal. And Kevin Weekes saying they "didn't shop the offer" doesn't really tell us what they did do.Kevin Weekes tweeter said a team that was highly interested and involved in Horvat said the Canucks didn't shop the Islanders offer.
Will be interesting to see what we think of this trade if the pick turns into a top 10 pick in 2024.

shopping the offer doesn't mean you say the Islanders are offering this ..... One because you set the offer up and the other team may match it when they may of been willing to go above that offer. All they had to do was call the other teams and say we got the offer we're looking for and Horvat is going to be moved today, are you sure that's the best you're willing to do?Fair enough. Helps to save face among their own fan base. Don’t know if that is going to be their offer or what the Canucks asked from them for Bo. Not sure it helps your own player or prospects to let that stuff leak out.Swedish Benning.
yea but you use it as leverage. PA said market dictates the value and that's true but strong negotiators understand how to maximize value in the market. PA doesn't seem to have strong enough nerves to do this, if he didn't shop the offer its because he was scared the Islanders would back out and he would lose their offer. You have to shop that offer and you may be able to get the Islander to remove the condition on their 1st or get it to being top 8 protected.
You would need to say more than that i would think.. atpeast outline what the pieces areshopping the offer doesn't mean you say the Islanders are offering this ..... Means that team either needed to up what they felt was a good offer from them or that their own offer didn’t convince the Canucks to accept it.Kevin Weekes tweeter said a team that was highly interested and involved in Horvat said the Canucks didn't shop the Islanders offer.
