I get a kick out of these dumb motherf***ers who want leave a championship caliber squad just so that they will have their own team to run. I'd love to see Kyrie's face if/when Boston misses the playoffs or loses in 4 or 5 to the Cavs in the playoffs again. What a dumbass.

Lol. Chicago suspended Bobby Portis 8 games because he got into a fight in practice with Nikola Mirotic and broke Mirotic's face.

Game Preview: Raptors vs. Bulls

Posted: Oct 19, 2017
Holly MacKenzie - Raptors.com
Chicago Bulls (0-0) @ Toronto Raptors (0-0)
When: Oct. 19, 7:30 P.M. ET
Where: Air Canada Centre
Broadcast info: TSN, SN590 The FAN
Last meeting:
Preseason finale:
Though this will be the regular season opener for the Raptors, these two teams faced off in Toronto’s final preseason game where the Raptors collected a 125-104 victory. The win came thanks to a 38-point fourth quarter explosion and a big night from C.J. Miles who led all scorers with 27 points in 20 minutes. Rookie OG Anunoby scored 12 points off the bench as Toronto had six players in double figures.
2016-17 flashback: The last regular-season meeting between these teams was a Raptors122-120 overtime victory that snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Bulls. DeMar DeRozan scored 42 points to lead Toronto, while Serge Ibaka and Robin Lopez were ejected for an altercation in the third quarter.
Leading into tonight:
Bulls shorthanded:
The Bulls will be without the services of Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis following an altercation during practice in Chicago. Portis has been suspended by the team for eight games and Mirotic is expected to miss 4-6 weeks as he recovers from facial fractures and a concussion. Rookie Lauri Markkanen is expected to start at the four spot for Chicago on Thursday.
Lucky 23: The Raptors will kick off their 23rd season in the NBA with the home opener against the Bulls at the Air Canada Centre. This will be the first of two home games before the team heads out on a six-game West Coast road trip. The Oct. 19 start marks the earliest season start in club history and will be the 17th time the Raptors have opened the regular season on their home floor.
Happy to be home: After a successful preseason where Toronto posted a 3-2 record, everyone is ready to get the real show underway. The Raptors racked up their frequent flier miles in the preseason, playing just one game at home. Following training camp in Victoria, B.C., the team played a pair of games against the Los Angeles Clippers in Hawaii, then faced the Blazers in Portland before finishing up on the East Coast with their lone game at the Air Canada Centre and then the finale in Chicago.

Didn't seen Bruno in the opening roster even though they listed the other probable 14-15 guys and D-league scrubs like brown, Miller, and McDaniels.

Interesting...

Amazing run here by the second team.

CJ Miles proving exactly why we acquired him and Delon looking really strong here too. Liking JP's energy too.

Early returns on the "new culture" Raptors is extremely positive. We'll see if they hold this up once the first cold-streak hits and guys start wanting to fall back onto old habits.

Gonna live and die by the three and it is going to be frustrating as hell when it ain't working.

Loving the new look offense. The Raps are sharing the ball, playing defense, and shooting a great percentage beyond the arc.

Great debuts for Miles and Anunoby.

We torched them in the paint tonight too. We can adjust if the three isn't falling on some nights.

Lol. Chicago suspended Bobby Portis 8 games because he got into a fight in practice with Nikola Mirotic and broke Mirotic's face.

Those flames were stoked during the summer and training camp.

One player told the Sun-Times that Portis’ actions were viewed as unacceptable but understandable throughout the locker room, especially with the mixed messages coming from coaches and general manager Gar Forman.

Portis and young players such as Jerian Grant, Denzel Valentine and Cristiano Felicio were told by Forman in their May exit meetings that the organization expected them to be working at the Advocate Center throughout the summer.

The message was hard work would be noticed and rewarded in this new culture.

Mirotic, however, was absent from those workouts in the offseason. He was lifting in the weight room but was basically a no-show when it came to playing basketball with teammates. Mirotic did have his reasons. He was a restricted free agent awaiting a contract from the Bulls or another organization.

But his distance rubbed teammates the wrong way, and one player said he came across as entitled.

Mirotic signed a two-year deal with the Bulls on media day, and within two weeks, he was all but named a starter over Portis.

Portis was upset that all the work he put in during the summer was apparently being overlooked, and he didn’t feel like there was proper communication in the decision to make him a bench player.

The 3s falling opens up some of those interior looks though. If they start bricking those distance shots, the D can back off and collapse down towards the basket, cutting off those passes and getting hands up in the face of the interior guys who were getting open looks and vacant lanes.

Man that offense looked 10x better than at anytime last year. Ball movement, more passing, more shooting. It was just flowing nicely all night long. Not only were they moving the ball so well and creating great shooting opportunities, but they were dominating the paint too.

Hope they keep this up all season. New system looks amazing.

JV looks better, Powell looks better, Wright looks like a starter, Miles looks awesome, Anunoby looks awesome.

Statement win without Lowry or Derozan doing much... nice!

They beat up on one of the worst teams in the East so I guess that's good. Bench unit looked awesome but the starting unit looked disjointed. I like seeing KL and DD buying into this new offence, I think its so very important, but I'd still like to see DD look for his own shot more often. He was sloppy though so it may be as simple as recognising that and moving the ball to guys playing better.

Yeah I said it before, but I think OG can become a Kawhi type player. Athletic, long, strong on D, smart. Just needs to refine his offensive game and he will be a gem.
