Lowry is a legit superstar. I'm still surprised people don't think he is. Is it because he doesn't play flashy enough? I mean, a lot of people think Lillard is a superstar, but Lowry is much, much better than him.

The problem is, in the modern NBA, you need another superstar as well. DeMar isn't that.

ESPN guys on twitter are loving this move. Everything is on Casey now. He has the pieces, he needs to find the right rotation in the playoffs. There is no complaining anymore about having the right guys. We may not have a legit superstar but when your GM goes out and gets you Ibaka and Tucker to your core already you better show some results. This is one of the better balanced teams now.

I'm very skeptical of Casey, but you are right, absolutely no excuses.

Love might not return this season.

Ibaka was a huge upgrade in everyway on Patterson, Sully, Siakam and Poeltl at the 4. Tucker cold start with Carroll coming off the bench and he is an upgrade on Ross off the bench.

Raps have the 6th best offense compared to the 22nd best defense. They were 5th and 11th this season. They needed a huge upgrade on the defensive side and Ibaka and Tucker do that in big ways.

not to be a debbie downer but whats the suddenly new expectations for this roster with a backup SF and a new PF who avgd 15 on a bad team? I know Ibaka is solid but im lost by what these two suddenly do to put us above Love/Irving/Lebron? cause ya..

Well they don't put us above the Cavs. The best and worst thing to happen to this league was LeBron. He has completely ruined any other team's chances of getting to the finals from the east.

I mean anyone who was expecting a move to put us above Cleveland was being outright unrealistic.

This moves us further ahead of the Boston/Washington/Atlanta second tier, which is all you could ask for. The fact that we did that without giving away a ton of future value makes it all the better.

I think somebody beats Cleveland this season in the East. Maybe it's us or maybe it's somebody else, but I am definitely thinking Cleveland can be beat this season. They have some issues.

Not the difference maker I wanted, but Ibaka/Tucker is a pretty huge upgrade for the frontcourt overall.

This harkens back to our Oakley/Willis/Davis days - it's a pretty badass rugged frontcourt which should really make life painful for the opposition, and hopefully open up room for our backcourt.

Ibaka and Tucker can both shoot the 3 as well so they don't kill us on offense either.

Basically both these guys are what we hoped Carroll would be - but they're much bigger and meaner than Carroll.

A mere shadow of his former self.

He's still a decent talent, especially when he only has to be 4th best on any given night. They only need him to be a savvy vet who can take some minutes off LeBron to give him a breather really

Wouldn't be surprised if playing with LBJ and a chance for a ring re-energizes his game a bit too.

this is partly why I feel Boston didnt give up Brooklyns 1 to get PG. Gotta think post lebron in 4-5 yrs

I was/am a huge fan of Lowry but he's not a superstar.

Lowry is a superstar.

Everyone would know it if he played for the Knicks, the Lakers or any other American big market team.

Powell was a 2nd rounder so there is quality to be had there, but I like the Tucker move anyways. Sully wasn't doing anything here and we got MUCH better upfront.

With George and Butler moving no where this season as well, the stars are aligning nicely for us to make a deep run.

SF is still not a strong point, unless PJ really is a dominant force defensively, which it's hard to be sure about.

But if he is, that's looking like a really good team.

Well the team made the ECF last season. But instead of Biyombo and Scola you have Ibaka, PJ Tucker and a healthy Carroll.

I'd say that's pretty damn encouraging.
