Not sure if this has been mentioned but apparently the Raps are interested in PJ Tucker.

I'd be scared of signing him since it's only one good year so far and we'd have to overpay for Pheonix to not match. Good fit otherwise, don't know if he'd like the reduced playing time here either.

He would still figure to feature prominently as our defensive rotation player.

Obviously the biggest draws are Nogueira and Caboclo. But looking at the rest of the roster:

-Buycks seems like he's getting this as a chance to showcase for another team considering he's likely as good as gone by the 22nd.

-Myck Kabongo is going to get a lot of attention because of his Canadian-ness, but chances are that he doesn't do much. he's had a year out of college after going undrafted and he was underwhelming last summer, underwhelming last pre-season, and underwhelming in the D-League (averaging less than 10 points and 5 assists per game and shooting poorly)

-Doron Lamb played last year and hit his 3s, but has offered little else.

-Hassan Whiteside is legit 7 feet and was an MVP and defensive POY in China, but he's been out of NA for 2 years and never showed a lot of promise.

Really, this summer league is all about Bruno and Nogueira and maybe Daniels. everyone else is pretty much roster filler unless they play amazing.

Which I guess is true of most summer league rosters.

So what do you guys thinking is the biggest missing link after we sign Vasquez? Is it a SF defensive stopper (a la Sefolosha)? Is it just any big who can potentially shore up our rebounding woes? Or maybe we should bring in someone who can potential play ahead of Ross at SF when he struggles...

Parsons would be awesome, but Masai would need to find a taker for Fields/Hayes pretty much right now. Otherwise all we've got is the MLE (which I'm not sure is usable on RFA offer sheets.)

I would move a 1st round pick + Hayes if it meant we got Parsons in return

They could go in several directions that are equally appealing. Another shooter/scorer at SF would help ease the burden on Ross and give the 2nd unit more punch. But a defensive specialist would be just as valuable if you can use him in close games and put Ross on the floor and have them cover both wing positions defensively.

that's kind of the beauty of the way the team is right now: they have the flexibility to not be locked into needing one specific fix or player type. Although another a SF is generally the major target. A backup C might be another option if Nogueira really isn't ready and they don't want Hansbrough/Hayes as the primary backup C.

I'm not positive on the cap space off the top of my head, but they might need to move both to come in above the Rockets ceiling and outbid anyone else who's in the market for him (which I imagine will be a lot of teams)

Hmm yeah interesting about the backup C situation. A rim protector seems like a big need. At the moment i think for where the Raps are at, a SF is probably the most pressing need, as far as spending is concerned. i would just go with Nogueira as the backup and hope for the best.

If Marion doesn't re-sign with the Mavs, wouldn't he make a lot of sense for the Raps? Obviously a big pay cut would be necessary, but he seems to fit exactly what the team would need for the next year or two.

Marion's wonky shot isn't reliable and at his age he's going to be losing steps and becoming a less effective defender. If we're going to take a guy that provides little offence with his defensive potential, I'd rather the younger Tucker

Goodbye, Bosh!

MLE won't impact their cap situation. bosh is still probably leaving, but this doesn't guarantee it.

I guess, but he doesn't really looked to have a lost a step or regressed with his shooting, as bizarro as it looks. Can Tucker play D?
