The NHL Network is a total non-starter. The fact that NHL Network isn't offered on YouTube TV and is part of a premium to a basic cable package makes it way too inaccessible.

I lost NHL Network years ago on my service.

It's absurd that NHL isn't giving away product to get more viewers

How does something like this work? Do the players get some type of special ID or card?

They probably just do it through the Chipotle app. They could give them a ton of rewards points or something, that they could use to get free stuff.
