Here comes the salt.

The funny part is, most people are too stupid to realize this award literally works like this.

<Check column 1: Points>
<Check column 2: PIMs>

Top 20-30 scoring player in the league, lowest PIM. He wins it.

According to some in a certain section on HF, the Lady Byng is "tarnished" because Johnny won the trophy. :laugh:

Jiri Hudler won this away a few years back... the guy's a little **** that chirped everyone and was a little free with his stick :laugh:

It's really quite funny how just so many Oilers fans are rattled by Johnny Gaudreau.

Gaudreau really deserves this, good for him. :sarcasm:

In all honesty, although I really enjoy how bitter some of the idiots on this site are about Gaudreau winning the award, he is a highly sportsmanlike kid. The dirtiest thing he's done is try to sell a couple of slashing penalties, because it's all he can do to combat the dozens of slashes he receives per game. The horror!

So. Vegas ends up with a few top 6 forwards.
Some decent top 6 guys on D.
A solid goalie and backup.

So.
Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal are kind of the winners tonight right?

Vancouver and Montreal got to get rid of bad contracts. Calgary didn't lose a thing.

Certainly Brouwer.
But we see the costs associated with picking up a contract like that. Not worth the payment.

True enough, that would sting, was hoping the "McPhee connection" would come into play. As wishful as that might have been.

Yeah, It would have been a lot nicer to lose Brouwer, Bouma or even Stajan. I'd had Engelland as a Knight on July 1st anyway so this is less than optimal.

Eight forwards on one-way deals plus Tkachuk followed by Bennett, Ferland, Lazar and Chiasson as RFA's who are all coming back next. That's 13 bodies already more or less locked in. There's literally no room for a Jankowski/Hathaway/Shinkaruk/Mangiapane, etc. to make the team unless several bodies are moved. So, hopefully Trelivings spends some energy finding a way to move at least two of Bouma/Stajan/Brouwer.

Losing a negative thing, sure. But this was better than losing young guys with some trade value for nothing.

I'm guessing it would cost 1st plus for Brouwer moving. 2nd plus for Bouma. 3rd for Stajan, but Eggs had the best PR. Plus they'd like his veteran leadership and fists. I am annoyed at our forward logjam, but I'm sure it'll be sorted out.

I hope Brouwer bounces back.

Down the middle, they are horrendous.
Outside of Eakin, is there a natural centre on that list of players that can play top 6 minutes?
