The card sucks. Simple as that.

I just don't see a way that Strickland can win. Luke Thomas was asked about a gameplan for Strickland on his live chat. Luke can usually muster up something even if it's a long shot, but even he said he didn't know. The only question in my mind is if Izzy lights him on fire or it's a boring decision.

I think Volkov is no doubt a more skilled, technical fighter than Tuivasa, but Tuivasa has the equalizer. I could see KO either way or a Volkov decision.

The rest of the card I don't really know enough about or care enough about.

This is basically an average Apex card with Adesanya/Strickland added on top.

Not much to say about the main event. As @pistolpete11 said above referencing LT, I just don't see a method of victory for Strickland. It's MMA so anything can happen.. but that's about it.

Feel like this Volkov fight could look like his Derrick Lewis fight, just a matter if Tai can land the big shot like Lewis did.

It's kind of crazy Felipe Dos Santos is in this fight - he's been fighting super-low regional level guys and even had a split decision last year in one of those fights. Kape is a massive step up.

Ulberg has gone on a nice little run here and has developed from solid prospect to legit fighter. I think the prelims and first couple PPV fights should actually be fun but this is not PPV-level type stuff.

He's a last minute replacement for KKF, no?

This back-up fighter stuff annoys me. This card is trash, why can't we have Cannonier fight someone? It would have been a significant addition to the card.
Agree completely. This "next man up" mentality is ruining the UFC. We're starting to see guys not fight becuase they think (or were told) that they're going to get the next title shot. So rather than actually fight and provide entertainment, they either back up title or just wait for their shot so that they don't potentially lose their spot. We see some of the top guys in the sport go a year+ without fighting. It's silly.

Contender series is so bizarre this season... the big name guys losing and Dana basically handing out contracts like Halloween candy. Tonight Lopes a -700 favorite who should've probably just been signed straight to the ufc gets starched... followed up by Dana saying one of the fights was the worst fight they've seen in contender series history but still gave the guy a contract. Insane.

Hell baby
Kape is an angry little shrimp. I think he’s been fuming for 2 straight years now

Don’t you boys start fighting now I have you both in my parlay. Good on Izzy for sticking up for his teammate, Idc about a size mismatch in that situation

You know this is a shitty card when even the hardcore fans are more focused on the trash talk:help:

But I do like that Izzy sticks up for his teammates, and I do like the porn cartoon addiction line lol

I hope he finds his way back to being a champ at some point, he’s one of my favourite fighters and just seems like a really cool dude
Me too, but the DDP fight is a little bit worrisome. It wasn't like he just got KO'ed. He lost the first round on the scorecards, too. Hopefully DDP is just better than I realized and it's not the beginning of the end. He;s only 32, but he's been doing this a long damn time.
