Grandberg goes to Florida, as an emergency replacement? Marlies have 2 games this weekend, seems silly to me to fly the kid to Florida and not play him. At this stage I would just say Ranger you're hurt, take a seat.

They should have demoted Clarkson to gain enough cap space to call Granberg up.

Its my understanding that if he gets picked up the Leafs are responsible for part of his contract. Can someone confirm?

Leafs wouldn't be responsible for his salary.

It'd be similar to how Liles was sent down without any risk of us having to take on his salary if a team picked him up.

Poor Granberg getting to rest from a few AHL games well getting to collect an NHL salary.

Isn't one of them specifically a "cap specialist"?

loiselle i thought was the cap guy.

its actually a little scary that considering how much we spend considering how far we are from contending.

i think its prudent to keep a good few million in cap space. what if a trade was possible but couldnt happen due to cap space. thats a stupid problem to have.

He didn't look out of place, looking forward to a more physical version of Gunnar :)

No He didn't. AHL playoffs will be good for him. But it's just one game. One meaningless game.
He looks like he has the size and speed.

I'll take anything over the crapshoot of D we have now

I always found the comparison of gunner very accurate, except Granberg is more physical. Looking forward to his play in the playoffs.

Honestly i had high expectations for him and i thought he would disappoint me but he lived up to his hype for me.

Although I thought he'd make the team this year I'm glad he got another year in the minors. I think he will be on the 5-6 pairing and if he can be a more physical version of Gunnarson then I'm fine with that.

missed the game. can anyone tell me if he looked like he was positionally solid and blocked shots? i know he broke up a 4-1.

also wonder if his footspeed is faster than gunnar, or franson for that matter.

glad he didn't look out of place.

He broke up a 4-1 and a 3-1. He got the MacIntyre treatment from his team.

Other then that he did not do much meaning no mistakes either.
