Why are our players GARBAGE and everyone else's GARBAGE are decent ? The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. Greening for Del Zotto is fair value especially when Gryba and Condra are figured into the equation. We overvalue our prospects and other teams players, and under value the players we have on the Sens Never saw people complain when Greening signed his contract, cut the guy some slack he's working hard and hopefully it will come together for him, this year has been a write off for a lot of our players.

Greening is 27 (a year older than Bobby Ryan). We've seen all he has to offer, he isn't going to get any better. Why are we paying him $3mil when a younger prospect in Bingo can do his job on an entry-level contract?

Yes he's going through a (terrible) slump right now, but even when he's on his A-game being carried by Spezza, he isn't worth $3mil. He barely hits, and for all the "fastest skater" competitions he won on the Sens, you sure couldn't tell that watching him play

Not disagreeing with anything you are saying but he is not GARBAGE :shakehead I have never been a huge fan of his but I take issue with people always dumping on our players. This year is a year of MANY under acheivers.

Your right that is even more bizarre than the contract. To bad in some ways he's a useful player just not at that contract.

this is the general view of greening imo, he is a decent useful role player, just not at 3 million a year, which is why he is a garbage player for us. Not all contracts can be like macarthur ill agree with that, but at his salary and what his expect role is, its not unreasonable to expect similar production to the likes of nick foligno or steve downie

Honestly ill take a 7th round pick and a bag of pucks to be rid of greening...... not because hes **** hes a decent depth player but because hes making twice as much as he should be and keeping us from having the money to make a play for a bigger name.

Not this year he's not. Currently making 925k and then 2mil next year. I'd deal him but I think as of now he's a player who they will keep because he provides a lot for what he makes (this year only)

If klesla falls to us and we do not have funds , would anyone trade michalek for erat and a 4th to get the money for klesla? Send gryba back down to the ahl to make room. Should free up a couple bucks , slightly worsen our forwards but improve our D.
