Pacioretty (26) - Desharnais (28) - Gallagher (22)
Galchenyuk (20) - Eller (25) - Briere (37)
Bourque (32) - Plekanec (32) - Prust (30)
Moen (32) - White (26) - Bournival (22)

Markov (35) - Subban (25)
Gorges (30) - Emelin (28)
Tinordi (22) - Diaz (28)

Price (27) - Budaj (32)

This is our prospective roster for the start of next year. No trades/signings etc. , I think this is what a lot of people are thinking. These are their ages by ~Nov.

If one more person ****ing compares us to the Oilers if we trade one or two of our veteran players, I will be upset.

To Buffalo:
Montreal 2014 1st round draft pick

To Montreal:
Former Buffalo 2013 1st round draft pick at 11th overall, Mikhail Grigorenko

It's worth a shot, to capitalize on their frustrations.

And what do we do with him? If he's not good enough to play with Buffalo how will he crack a line up that sees Galchenyuk play 10-13 mins a night. He won't go to Juniors no matter what team has his rights and he can't play in the AHL or Europe.

I don't see the point in trading for him just to have the same problem Buffalo has.

He's struggling this year, but I think Ray Whitney could be had from Dallas and his creativity would really help the struggling PP.

In fact, with Chuck hurt, the Habs have exactly zero creativity on the wings. I think he would work well with Plekanec.

He's not working well on an awful Buffalo team. He might work better here where he could be better insulated, perhaps as a winger for Desharnais.

It's a risk, but I like these kinds of risks :)

Maybe, he can play RW. But it's a gamble, especially with his attitude and poor play. But he can go to the AHL next season......so I guess.

Short term solution, what's the point? We'll give up something like a 2nd round pick, and then what? He won't make us win the cup, that's for sure.

Id rather use that 1st and try to get Tyler Myers. I think he would do well in a more limited and defined role in Montreal.

Even if his value has steadily gone down since his first season, they would be asking way too much. I bet they would ask for a 1st and a prospect like Beaulieu.

If they wanted a 1st and Beaulieu for Myers I would drive him from Buffalo to Montreal tomorrow.

Winnipeg might be making a trade soon, I don't know if we need Evander Kane on the team, might be another headcase. Andrew Ladd could be available.

I'm not sure about Tyler Myers, or the cost for Tyler Myers in the first place. However, the 6'8 D comes with the advantage of being a RD, something Montreal is desperately lacking in terms of top-four Ds. The current trade value for Myers would dictate if making that move is worthwhile. At 23, I doubt he has plateaued and, with proper guidance and a change of scenery, can return to earlier form.

Just imagine:

Markov-Subban
Emelin-Myers
Murray-Gorges, or Murray-Pateryn, even, if Gorges needs to be part of a trade.

The top four D could eat up a tremendous amount of minutes and the 3rd pairing would only need to be solid defensively for limited minutes outside of PK minutes as specialists (Murray and/or Gorges, if Gorges remains)

Ladd would be a great fit but I doubt he would be available.

Either way he would cost quite a lot to acquire.

Can't work right now so let's fantasy manage...

Kane for Gallagher, Emelin, 2nd 2014 and Leblanc

Vanek and 3rd 2014 for Collberg, Bourque and Beaulieu

DD and Nygren for Polak

We might overpay for the players, but trully it doesn't matter, what matter is the team in hands and this team would be scary good. Re-signing Vanek to a 8x8,25 would assure us to retain his service, a team would have to offer more than 9mil a year for 7 years to beat this offer.

Next year

Kane-Pleks-Pacioretty
Vanek-Galchenyuk-Brière
Bournival-Eller-Prust
Moen-White-Andrighetto
Boulton (for MMA fans)

Gorges-Subban
Markov-Polak
Tinordi-Robidas
Drewiski

Sign
Subban 8x8mil
Markov 3x6mil
Robidas 2x2mil
Eller 5x4mil

These salaries should be more or less what they get... and it all fits under a 71mil cap.

God it's good to dream... now let's get back to reality and this very ordinary lineup who won't win anything...

Van-Habs-Cal

Booth to Habs
DD to Cal
Cammy to Van

-Vancouver needs an added piece with a scoring touch.
-Desharnais is a good player but doesn't fit in Montreal.
-DD would make the Flames better, IMO cause he brings more to the game than Cammy.
-Booth, it's mainly so the Habs get a decent return, could play second line and third line. At least 6 foot.

No from everybody except Vancouver.

From MTL POV: Booth is really bad (worse then Desharnais)...(and often injured) Not sure Id do that deal
From Cal POV: DD for Cammy lol
From Van: Cammy for Booth Hell Yeah :handclap:

My thoughts exactly. 3 tiers of players being traded for each other doesn't make sense unless we end up with Cammy and the other 2 get screwed.
