They should have let Letang go eons ago.
Why the org is/was always so high on him?? Who the hell knows???
He never even won a Norris.
Not to mention he’s had a five-cent brain his entire career night in night out.
Plus they showed they can win without him. Meanwhile you’d think he has like 10 Norris trophies with the way the org/media is/was always circlejerking over him.

1) Letang was their #1D, and an above-average #1D, for years.
2) He overcame strokes to come back and play
3) He was the best player by far on the heroic 2011 Penguins team without the other 2 guys that nearly got to the 2nd round
4) In all honesty he was the best of the 3 during the 2016 Cup Run. Sid just got the Smythe by default but wasn't the most deserving
5) The 2 years post-COVID he clearly surpassed Geno, and was 1/1A with Sid
6) Our 2017 run was an absolute fluke and purely driven by luck and great goaltending. Don't care that he was out. Washington and Nashville obliterated us but we won the goalie battles.
He has become an absolute train wreck over the last month and probably responsible more than any other player for the collapse this year, but give him his respect.

He was a top 10-15 DMan in this league for years. Our of 190-200 Dmen in the league, he was consistently in the top 6-8%.
We are so myopic towards forwards vs. D in this fanbase.
