Drouin+Tatar out and Saad+Poehling in is basically what I'm expecting.

I'd love to get Hamilton but:
a)Hamilton wouldn't want to come here
b)We'd have to trade away Weber which Bergevin will never do

Agree on Poehling. Leaves more money for top 4 D and resign players next year.

Toffoli - Suzuki - Anderson
??? - JKO - Caufield
Poehling - Danault - Gallagher
Lekhonen - Evans - Perry
Byron

??? - Weber
Chia/Ed - Petry
Romanov - Kulak/Fleury

Price
Allen

one of Chia/Ed goes to seattle...
Drouin to LTIR or traded as part of package for LD/LW

fill ??? on defense with a major upgrade (if trade: Fowler, OEL... if UFA: Martinez)
fill ??? at LW with a suitable offensively gifted top-6 vet subject to cap flex, which increases a lot if Byron/Kulak can be moved without taking cap back, replaced by Fleury/Poehling (Granlund? RNH? Ovechkin? Hall? Landeskog? Schwartz?)

If Colorado looks to shake things up Girard would be a great fit for many reasons. I also see us signing Hall...just a feeling.

Toffoli-Suzuki-Caufield
Hall-Kotkaniemi-Anderson
Poehling-Danault-Gallagher
Lekhonen-Evans-Perry
Byron

Girard-Weber
Edmundson/Chiarot*-Petry
Kulak-Romanov
Gustaffson-Fleury

Allen

*I expect Seattle to snag one of Chiarot/Edmundson

Though not a big fan of Hall, he would bring us to the contender status.. Even more.

+ a trade for Girard would be a dream come true.

That's the holes i see. We need more offense to play with Anderson. KK isnt working. And we need better LW. Need skill/passers.

I’m sorry kk isn’t working but you keep Danault ahead of him in the lineup?

he had a bad game tonight no doubt but so did Danault. So did Gallagher etc

I dont belive in line 1,2,3, 4. Need 4 lines that work. That's all. You can label them how you wish.

KK isnt as good as Suzuki offensively and isnt as good as Danault defensively. Not much place for him to go considering he isnt producing f all with Anderson. Staal, Perry arent coming back so put the finns together again and find a more offensive center.

Why? He isn't waiver eligible for one more year.

If Evans solidifies himself as the 4C, we can certainly afford to let Poehling continue developing his game in Laval, instead of grinding away as a winger for 12 minutes a night.

The only change I would do is bring in a top-4 puck moving defenseman

If we lose Allen in the expansion draft, of course also sign a backup.

Aside from that, mostly bring in depth/young players for Laval and callups.

It’ll be Chiarot or Edmundson IMO, there’s a glut of cheap goalies all of a sudden who can be exposed

Four LW's I would like to see Habs acquire (not all four, but at least one of them):

- Alex Killorn (solid player. playoff performer) - wanted him at the start of the year when Tampa was in cap trouble.
- Brandon Saad (solid player. playoff performer) - I was in the minority in the off-season in wanting him.
- Mike Hoffman (solid player. playoff performer) - Habs were hot after him last year. Maybe they will pursue again.
- Tyler Bertuzzi (solid player. has that Gallagher energy, but younger and bigger)

Evans is an NHL'er. So he will be in the line-up next year. And it will be good to see Poehling officially graduate to the NHL after having a solid AHL season where he looked like he figured the pro game.

Really? He’s only played a total of 64 AHL games. Let him start in Laval again to see if it was a fluke or if he’s actually breaking out. I’d rather that than force him on the wing to find him an NHL spot.
