He joined them in the playoffs. That's not a "historically bad" team he joined. They went from a bad team to the playoffs without him.
..and from worst team in playoffs to elite with him.

Dahlin's effect to Buffalo: from 31st to 25-31.

But there's still hope because you got actual star in Thompson who actually elevates team's level

He's having a career season after being freed from the shackles of Paul Maurice. Not really a bad pick at all.

Crazy how little credit he's getting. Clearly anyone who thinks this is a farfetched pick haven't watched him play this year. He's established himself as a top pairing defenseman and is only 3 pts behind Karlsson
