I'm big on Shattenkirk. I think he's going to be a stud.

I'll just throw some comparisons out there I guess, these are mostly style of play and not projections though. Haven't seen all these guys that much so these might be a bit off.

    1. Karl Alzner - Phillips
    2. Ryan McDonagh - Chelios
    3. Keaton Ellerby - Blake
    4. Kevin Shattenkirk - Boyle
    5. Nick Petrecki - Regehr
    6. Jonathan Blum - Timonen
    7. Tommy Cross - Salei
    8. Thomas Hickey - Liles
    9. Ian Cole - Heward
    10. Alex Plante - Foote
    11. T.J. Brennan - Zidlicky
    12. John Negrin - Hannan
    13. Ted Ruth - Lydman
    14. Eric Doyle - Numminen
    15. Nick Ross - Poti

I'll also toss Katic in the mix, forgot him. Gonchar/Ric Jackman I guess would be the best comparisons, but he's smaller.

I'll say so! I was sort of hoping that the Pens would get him at 20 this year, but seeing how some of you don't even have him on your list, maybe they could sneak him in the 2nd!!

I know they have a poor reputation with defenseman but the Q is getting severely overlooked !
This year seem to have lots of unflashy defenseman but the depth is amazing !

Marshall, Stich, Grant, and Brennan should be the guys who go in the first three rounds. After that there are a handful of others as well, but certainly not as many Q defenseman will be drafted as compared to the Dub.

Could Ruth sneak into the first round. I think he is a projected mid second rounder?

I think Negrin is a real darkhorse, I think he can become a pretty solid d-man in the future.

I just like 9 defenceman better. it's more them moving up, then Ellerby moving down.

Alex Plante it too oaf-like for me. I've read his skating has really improved, but if it didnt I wouldnt want him in the sixth round. if he has improved greatly, but i'd probably put him 12 or 13 just because he's a dominating physical package, but since i haven't seen that myself, I can't put him on my list.
