Key question to be answered is whether the Cane's market can absorb the proposed Increases in premium seats in both season ticket sales + individual game packages.

Quite frankly, I don't see it as the Triangle is not a HQ Corporation market similar to NY, Boston, etc.

It's about to be. Google, Apple, Meta offices all coming. This is a long term play, and a sensible one.

I agree. TBH as much as I want to see them play the rest of the O6 teams (Ive seen the Wings, Habs, and Hawks) what they charge for the premium teams like the Rags, Leafs is more than Im willing to pay unless its just me and my wife going. I like paying sub 40 bucks for upper level cheap seats. I have paid right around $100 for lower bowl seats once but not something Im willing to do 2-6 times a year when I can get to the games.

Perhaps but regional offices don’t usually spring for box or premium seats in quantity.

Yep. Gotta watch out for the corporate buyers who 1) don't attend many games and 2) not truly fans thus weakening the Caniac type experience we know and love.

About the removed sections, in the upper deck, aren't the corners areas that have a few rows missing anyway with a wall there already? If my memory is correct, wouldn't that minimize the amount of seats removed?

around the entrance, it's 4 seats on either side on ~4 rows

my season tickets are on one of those tiny rows now so i guess that we'll have to shuffle off somewhere else in this hypothetical future

Just unacceptable to have an arena where you have people paying thousands to attend games where the seats don't provide enough leg room to anyone over 6' tall.

Yeah I switched from lower bowl to club level just because of that. Like airplane seats

I will disagree. Sat all over at games in various places before Canes came to NC. Ended up on glass behind net when I started getting season tickets. Lots of great times and memories. Nothing like having a Chara slap shot miss the net and hit the glass. Watched many people lose beers. Upper Deck is great to watch plays develop and you get a great view of the whole ice, but you can really feel the games where I sat. My favorite thing was watching the goalies. Brodeur and Hasek were the two best and with wildly different styles. Go Canes!

I always go for the shoot twice corner, upper bowl, first 2 rows a or b. IMO those are the best seats to see everything, except maybe the 200s or the top 4 or 5 rows of the 100s

I would imagine the fact they sold out the Stadium game at $300+ per seat is giving them the thought that they can raise prices and still sell tickets.

It is two different games. Up higher you can see the plays develop and how systems work. It is easier to track the game.

On the glass you see the blood, sweat and tears. It is extremely action-oriented and you get a unique relational experience. There isn't anything quite like slamming the glass while Brad Marchand's rat face is 1 inch away.

That said, I have met multiple lower-bowl casual fans who say they never really "got" the game until they sat up higher.

If they reduce those seats or drive them to the price of the lowers, I wont come nearly as much. Its al;ready a 3 hour ride and I make on average 2-3 games a season + playoffs. I won't pay those prices.

I paid 42.50 in dallas for those seats. I've been paying 48-60 for most canes games (I dont go when the rangers drive up the price). I'm not paying 100 each for f***ing upper bowl seats.

Yeah, Capitol One gets extremely tight, especially in the 400 level. I can forgive that given how it has to fit into a city grid, but I can't forgive the total lack of beer better than Vienna lager and any semblance of half creative food. I love a chicken finger, but when that's the height of culinary acheivement in a building that fits 18k, I don't know what to tell ya.

I'm a cheap seats fan. No shits given about the high end amenities. Beer, barbecue, and a seat. Turn off all the stupid flashy lights, stupid sound effects, and play some simple music (hell, bring back the organ). Mites playing hockey at intermission. Is that so hard? Who are all those led strips and sound effects for, anyway?

I'm there for the hockey. Show me hockey. And getting me in and out efficiently is a good deal too.

I miss the organ. My first set of seats were right by it.

Saw the Canes play the Islanders at UBS Arena in January. Gotta say, that's one hell of a nice barn. Mimic that place and I think we'd all be very happy.

Edit: I mean the inside. It's kinda in the middle of nowhere so didn't get much of a view of the surrounding area.

Agreed and a key reason why teams have been sold for increasing prices.

Every League sees gambling as a future big time cash cow (or until there is a betting scandal of course).

yeah this is inevitable. The question will be: will the sportsbook be inside PNC, a new building built on to PNC, or external as part of a new development around the arena like The Battery around the Braves park or the Power and Light District in KC.
