Sundin was payed over 8M per year on avg over his last 2 contracts.

So don't make it sound like he was a 10yr old mine worker putting in 14hrs a day.

He was very well, perhaps overly, compensated for his carreer in Toronto. So damn straight I think he should have left when asked to leave.

You are asking the very heart and soul, pride and joy a ticket out of town for a prospect?

Never.

I'd never ask that of such a heroic captain.

That's not the way I'd want such an esteemed Leaf treated.

Kaberle was bad enough.

Not Sundin.

:biglaugh:

Sundin was a good captain but c'mon man that is stretching it.

You make it sound like he was Gilmour, Clark and Salming all rolled into one. ANd He simply wasn't.

Even esteemed players get traded. Ask Sittler, Gretzky, Bourque, Francis, Shanahan, Pronger, Gilmour and about 100 other of some of the best to ever play the game.

EDIT nother name just popped inot my head: Ryan Smyth.

Sundin was the greatest Leaf since Vaive/Salming

Lebda. Not only totally incompetent but we ended up stuck with Lombardi just to get rid of him. One of the few bad trades by Burke there.

The answer is Scott Gomez.

I know he doesn't play for the Leafs but it hurts being a "fan" and watching that guy play.
