Lol...Howard Eskin needling and Harden blowing him off about the coach needing to devise plays to get him the ball.

If Harden wants to have any shred of respect around the league he’ll opt in. He can’t quit and run off to another team. Not again.

Pedestrian.
Except this core has no identity, nothing that makes it different from the other rosters in the league.
Youve got a D'antoni backcourt playing matador defense spamming pick and roll and straight line slashes but Jo clogging the middle.

Youre asking your injury prone center to avg 30 a game while trying to stop all the free drives to the rim your starting backcourt gives up.

Obviously fire Doc. Maybe Quin Snyder can be pried away now that the Jazz are imploding.
Obviously trade Tobias. My preference would be to spread that wealth around on transition speed, vertical athleticism, and defensive length.

Im not sure Collins even fits with Jo tbh, even if you could get Atl to bite. They'll have better offers.

I'll harp again on defense. They played the 2 least talented offensive rosters in the playoffs and let them get whatever they wanted.

The offense im not worried about but the other side has to be addressed.
Idk if that means Jo taking less shots and focusing more on defense, more Parrish less Jokic, combined with adding depth or something else.

How about more Tim Duncan and less Allen Iverson? Or is that too much to ask?

Morey should look around the league - the pursue the stars strategy is so passe - it's now build a roster of young, high energy long athletes - look at Phoenix, Mami, etc. You need a couple guys who can score with the game on the line, but mostly you need athletic depth to play full speed on defense for 48 minutes. Three overpaid stars on the wrong side of 30 and a bunch of scrub veterans isn't the way to go anymore.

You do that by playing and developing the kids during the regular season, taking your lumps but accelerating their development, so come playoffs they're ready to contribute. You can win regular season games with a veteran roster that takes advantage of weaker teams, but in the playoffs the competition is consistently stronger and the faster pace wears down players. It's much easier to shelter veterans in the NHL (3rd line, PP, limited minutes) than in the NBA.

Sixers have Maxey and . . . Matisse still hasn't developed the corner 3 that would make him a starter, guys like Joe, Reed, Bassey, Stringer were afterthoughts all season. So Milton, Niang, Korkmaz, and the Harden trade cost them Curry and Drummond. Green having to start instead of coming off the bench with fresh legs for 20-25 minutes.

I would love if the Lakers brought in Doc and expected a different result. Sure he will get along with everybody and will achieve a certain level of success in the regular season like he has but agree sugar water is still sugar water and not Kool aid if you don't have the flavoring..
