Post Pictures Of Yourself Thread

Looked for the old thread on this, but no dice, thought I'd start a new one.

This is pretty recent, playing Midget C, last year of minor hockey.

I've noticed that even if someone sucks, their socks can save them.

I am not great and I rock the retro black Capitals socks with black pants, jersey, and helmet. I get compliments all the time (I live near DC)

I'll post a pic soon.

What's going on with the boards??

LOL, the only rink we have was not meant for hockey and they had to cover the glasses with those monstrosities. They still have the railings though which can really hurt some of the taller guys, luckily I'm short enough that my shoulders are under those railings when on knee bend.

Never seen that before, interesting. Especially the railing.

Quite common in metropolitan cities where ice hockey isn't a mainstream sport.

There are some malls with recreational skating rinks inside that's not specifically catered to playing hockey, but people eventually play there anyway. Hence you'll see a lot of these weird, patched up rinks in Asia in particular.

Do you live in Asia by any chance?
We are supposed to get a decent hockey rink in August'13, what I don't understand is we Asians tend to build mediocre rinks in terms of sizing and equipment. I mean with all the money invested, why not aim so that the rink can be used for international events.

I think they dont bother getting professional advice. Plus they always want these rinks to be "dual" purpose. More like "everything" purpose except hockey. lol

Yeah except that they fail in business logic if they only expect income from public skating. Anyone can calculate it's not profitable enough

Had to change after taking a puck to the mouth at the Pond, first time I've been hit in the face with an ice hockey puck and it was incredibly painful. I'd rather get beat up by a goon that get hit by a puck again thus the switch to a cage.

Nothing wrong with the cage. Had a visor for a while and sometimes play with no visor or cage. Saw Crosby get hit in the face and when I heard he was not coming back into the game I realized it is much smarter as a player to wear a cage.

Forget the pain, the possible surgeries or the look... The fact that you could get hit in the face in anyway and not be able to play for the game or for a few games or whole season is depressing and does not help your team. And most of these injuries could be saved through wearing a cage.

So now I wear a cage in all my games.

The soviets were one of the first to wear helmets. They did the simple research, injuries to the head were likely and if your best player got hurt and could not play then your team will have less of a chance to win.

Not the greasiest set-up in the game by any means. Using pro-stock X:60's, pro-stock 11K stick and pro-stock gloves. All acquired from an ECHL team. I have since gotten new pants, skates and stick. But this is what I was ridin back when I was playing competitively.

Also, I hated those Reebok pants. They were bulky as hell and hard to move around in. Have since gone back to Bauer.
