Anybody got any info on invites Baddock, Bilcke, Petryk, Schaber, Betker(didn't remember we drafted this guy), and Leach?

Tourny should be very good this year.

Calgary and Winnipeg have pretty good rosters this year. Vancouver has Shinkaruk and Horvat as well.

Pumped to see how Klefbom/Nurse/Marincin/Musil/Gernat/Davidson fair against Barstchi/Monahan/Scheifle/Shinkaruk/Petan/Horvat/Hertl

Also should be good to see how Khaira/Roy/Houck stack up against these guys and which one of the grinders emerges as a legit prospect

Like the grit up front and the Dmen

Nurse-Klefbom
Marincin-Gernat
Musil-Davidson
:amazed:

CGY skill forwards look good.. Do we get to see the mythical Jankowski?

The whole team (minus Miller and 5'11 platzer) are 6'0 and over. the whole D core is huge too, and pretty mobile

Could win the tourny based on size and defense alone, I guess this is what it feels like to be the Kings or Nahville. I want to see a line(s) of
Khaira-Ewanyk-Moroz
Roy-Miller-Houck

Unfortuantly the NHL wanted to have mercy on us so he couldnt play. (But really NCAA cant play in this, thats why theres no Simpson, Laleggia, Mccaron or Gaudreu)

Off-season went by pretty fast surprisingly. So excited to watch some hockey. I love September. :yo:

No Leleggia??

College guys can't play due to NCAA rules. So Calgary's favoured son won't be there either.

Obviously the defense is pretty stacked, but I'm also interested in seeing Jackson Houck, Jujhar Khaira, Mitch Moroz and Marco Roy. Lots of physicality in those first three actually, a line of Moroz - Khaira - Houck could really terrorize the tourney!

I watched Chase Schaber live for 2 years in Kamloops he was captain for one of them he is one of the hardest working players I e seen come through Kamloops, he isn't too tall but is very stout, he hits alot stands up for teammates has decent scoring touch, and loves too driv the net, unfortunately he is not special in any aspect but will work his ass off too help the team win, I can't see him making an impact in any way for the big club maybe gets a chance in OKC or Bakrsfield, but that is his ceiling IMO

Likely way off, but here's some lines I'd like to see.

Khaira - Miller - Houck
Moroz - Ewanyk - Roy
Kessy - Chase - Platzer
Petryk - Schaber - Abney
Fyten, Baddock.

Also, Who's this years Sergei Shirokov Award for most tournament hype winner? I bet it's Klimchuk.

Man, that D is super stacked.
I think the team is set up beautifully going forward.
We are stocked with high end skilled forwards with the big club and stocked with rugged, bottom 6 forwards in the pipeline.
We are lacking high end defenseman on the big club outside of J. Schultz (potentially) and are stacked with high end D prospects in Klefbom, Nurse and possibly Marincin with plenty of depth beyond that.

I'm not even that worried about the center depth. I think that Lander and eventually Ewanyk will be very solid bottom 6 centers. My biggest concern is the lack of a top 6 2 way center, Monahan would have really been huge for us going forward.
The only real big worry is goaltending. I still think that Bunz can be a player but outside of that, we really have very little in the pipeline. I don't have much faith in Roy, seems way too erratic for my liking.

Anyway.... Really looking forward to the Penticton tournament. I'm actually more curious to see the forwards than the defensemen. Really interested to see how Khaira, Kessy and the 2013 draftees (Roy and Houck in particular) do against some pretty good competition.

Thanks for editing my post Stark.

Lots of "grit" in our forwards.
Expecting to see Ewanyk and Klefbom be leaders on this team.
Should be interesting to see how Platzer does.

That roster is the complete opposite of the Oilers. Big, aggressive, gritty, defensive, with questionable offense vs. small, skilled, soft, offensive, with questionable defense.
