With all their technology and the trouble Cisco and Caitlin have been getting into recently, they should really have a Life-Alert button to call Barry whenever they need him.

That was a really really good episode. I'm assuming you don't come in here unless you've seen the latest episode.

Here is my theory; Doctor Wells had theories about how to time travel but he knew that he will need to go fast to have any chance at dilating time. He recognized that he could do it with two speedsters like the flash and used the particular accelerator to make two (himself and barry). He is making Barry faster in order to help him in his goal of achieving time travel. Eventually later in the show he succeeds to some level and is able to back in time to kill Barry's mother to keep Barry angry and going along with his ruse when really he is the killer, but he needs to keep Barry around for some reason.

I have no clue what's going to happen but I have to say I've been loving the show. Surprised it doesn't get more love around here.

BTW I love Cisco. I thought he was going to be the annoying sidekick but he is hysterical in the show.

Caught the last 30 minutes. What an ending, completely loved it, although Cisco!

You have to understand, to me, you have been dead for hundreds of years ! :amazed:

If you only caught the last 30 minutes, you missed the part where Barry sees himself running beside him at the beginning of the episode.

So it seems like Barry went back in time at the end. So, no doubt that whatever just happened will not happen again the same way. I strongly doubt Cisco ends up dying in this new timeline.

And I bet Barry doesn't end up kissing Iris and letting her know either.[/SPOIL]

That's too bad if your prediction is true. I really liked how they played out his reveal to Iris.

Also good to see Liam McIntyre back on tv.

We already know that there's time travel in the show, going back to the murder of Barry's mother. So when they started throwing out all those big reveals/events in the latter half of the episode tonight you just knew they were going to retcon it right away with some time travel shenanigans. Reveal your secret identity, shakeup the romance to what the lead character always wanted, unmask the villain, and kill perhaps the most likeable among the main characters... all in one episode on a network TV show? Yeah right!

Smallville was the king of doing this, and it's a plot device that I absolutely loathe. "Hey, let's reveal big secrets/finally have relationships pay off, only to immediately erase it altogether".

[spoil]The one thing that won't change is that we, the audience, now know that Dr. Wells is a full-fledged bad guy, not just a potentially ambigous one. I would bet money that whatever changes Barry causes, the Cisco/Caitlin/Wells storyline will almost assuredly not occur, thus leaving our heroes in the dark once more about Dr. Wells, but upping the tension correspondingly because we know he's a wolf in sheep's clothing.

As for the other big twists...I think the Barry/Iris moment will most certainly fall by the wayside as well, unfortunately - or at least play out very differently. Barry's going to have to use his knowledge to try and stop Mardon from capturing Joe in the first place, thus negating that whole moment.[/spoil]

Great episode tonight. Really love this show.

Great story this episode.
Few things bugged me though like how West decided to go all macho and try to handle a metahuman 1-on-1. Pretty out of character since I thought he'd be smarter than that. That and how they let a wanted man like Marden walk into the police headquarters without anyone noticing.

This and Iris' timing of her confession to Barry were my only gripes. The strongest points for me hands down were the Cisco/Wells/Caitlin scenes.

Seriously. Dad and the city is in major trouble. Let's smooch.
I could have seen Cisco be a really annoying character, but the writers/Valdes made him awesome.
Caitlin...I need to stall you, so I'm going to look at my watch all the time.

Yeah, I was part of the group that was iffy on Cisco at the start, but the show - and the actor - have really done a great job with him. He's not just a sidekick, he's a well rounded personality (who can even throw down when he has to).

Catilin has been utilized well, but yeah, the constant watch-glancing wasn't doing her any favours. Although it was her ridiculously poor poker face when Wells mentioned Cisco that threw events into motion for realzies, IMO.

Took half a season and The Flash is already twice the show Arrow is.
I couldn't get into Arrow, and the crossover didn't make me want to watch. That whole show strikes me as Arrow trying to be Batman rather than find its own voice, only with a really bizarre Oliver-stranded-on-an-island thing as motivation, which didn't make the slightest lick of sense to me. Anyway.

I just got caught up on this week's Flash, and whoa.. The big scene was probably the best scene I've seen on TV in a long time.

[SPOIL]
From the moment Cisco sees Wells standing at the door, it's crystal clear he knows that Wells is Reverse-Flash and that he won't be leaving the room alive. He only makes two desperate long-ball plays: "There were two of you?" (hoping that Wells is somehow a less-evil version of RF, perhaps) and "I can help you" (knowing even as he says it that Wells won't accept). He doesn't bother trying to defend himself, or run away, anything. He just has this completely broken look about him the entire time. Hell of a performance.

That latter was especially annoying. There were even cops in the background looking at the conversation between West and Marden and they were acting like it was no big deal. Worst. Cops. Ever.

I'm giving this show a second chance, I gave up after the first episode because of how poorly written the dialogue was/is

Re watching the first episode, two things strike me outside of the dialogue

1) I don't know anything about science but the science talk is just painfully bad, its so obvious theyre just making up words half the time

2) it has this weird anti-science slant to it with regards to the particle accelerator, like calling it "hubris" and I think I even heard "playing God"

I have a weapon that turns anything into gold.
But I'm still going to attempt to rob a casino.

It might not really be gold. It might just be something that looks gold but is able to do whatever is necessary for the gun to work.

Also Cold makes it pretty clear that they're doing all that more or less for ****s and giggles. They're doing it because they think it's fun, because they want to prove they can, etc.

also, geek-out moment with an actual Rogues' Gallery dialogue reference.

and this show might be the first time I've ever seen a show filming in Vancouver overlaying CGI rain into a shot (one of the establishing shots of the particle accelerator) instead of being able to get a shot that's actually raining.
