More specifically it would have to be a Caps win and an Isles regulation loss for the Caps to clinch the division. An Isles OTL still keeps them alive for the division.

Hmm, smells like a stinker. Final game of a 3-game road trip in sleepy Sunrise, Florida against a non-playoff team coming off of an emotional game Saturday night. I imagine Copley gets the start here and I suspect the Caps will not come out swinging.

I stand unafraid. But I am intrigued at losing our last game to get a better first round matchup. Hockey is kinda weird in that the first place team faces extra pressure, seemingly more so than other sports. It would be fun to eliminate CBus so Torts can blow a fuse etc but suspect Caro will be a much easier first series. We barely got by CBus last year and they seem stronger.

I'll project maybe 8,000 in attendance and half of them will be Capitals fans. Heard Boomer and Gio on CBS sports this morning talking about how bad the Marlins attendance was this past weekend. Miami/Southern Florida is just a horrible sports area for the likes of hockey and baseball. They need to move those franchises soon, hopefully the Panthers go to Quebec to become the Nordiques.

Although I don't wish any fans to lose their team, I do like the idea of the Nordiques back in the NHL. I used to watch those Habs/Nords rivalry games on open air satellite as a kid. Those were some great games before Quebec became super terrible. Even then there was bad blood between the two franchises.
