Solid game, we should have had a bunch more but there was some strange puck luck tonight.

I noticed this too.

JVR's miss on the open net, two sepearte times the puck trickled by the post, one in the first period and one off Gardiners shot that hit the cross bar, Kadri's miss of an open net too.

Despite all of the missed scoring chances, that was perhaps our most solid 60 minute effort of the season.

Full marks to Andersen for the shutout.

Washington just took a punch tot he stomach. They barely beat us in the spring and after losing some key FA's (and our natural improvement) they now know where they rank in the East.

And did you all see the nonchalant reaction to the empty net goal? Geez, Babcock has them playing like seasoned old pros tonight.

Really impressive game, huge bounce back game for Andersen.

Nowhere near as exciting as our first five games, but still great to get the win and shutout the Caps. Way to go Freddy and the defence.

Our offense was still much better than theirs, but yeah a bit of a sloppy game

Without the flury of goals, I loved this close checking game. Not a goal until the third period. Enjoyed that.
