I think a lot of possibilities, the california teams, detroit, calgary, ottawa, chicago.

I'm not saying Calgary won't take a goalie but in my opinion they'd be stupid to take a goalie at 12th.

Like him or not they have a starter who is going to dominate starts for 5 years. They made their bet on him and they should stand by it. They should be adding skaters and taking goalies much later they can slow play. Especially if they are indeed in the "win now" focus they claim to be.

I'm not so sure. Chicago has Lankinen who looks like he might be their goaltender of the future.

Markstrom is locked in for Calgary and they need help on defence with Giordano leaving.

Ottawa has Gustavsson and Daccord as goalies as the future.

Detroit is drafting too early for a goaltender IMO. They try and move up from 23 to snag one.

I think their is a very realistic possibility that one of those goaltenders is available depending on the trades.

Goalie has been undervalued for years and this being a copy cat league, teams are going to look at the two teams that made the final. If yzerman really like one of the goalies he has shown he wont mess around he'll just choose one.

In any case I hope you are right.

I think people get excited about his style of play, I've seen comparisons to Brad Marchand.

I think he's more likely to be a 3rd line grinder more like Sean Avery but thats just me.

I heard the Marchand comparison which piqued my interest, but we hear that comp a lot because he's such a unique player and it rarely works out that way (e.g., Brad Ross is one that comes to mind).

Considering the Rangers might be looking for their own pain in the ass, wonder if they'd take L'Heureux

All good, thank you. I think LA is viable as a team deep with prospects. Anaheim with Gibson and San Jose trading for Hill seem low likelihood. Calgary mortgaged a schwack of money on Markstrom and have a lot of system needs. Ottawa has two prospect goalies (though might lose one to Seattle) and Murray with cashola and term. Chicago seems primed for a tender and I can imagine in a turbulent draft year that someone could aim to move up with two available blue chip goalies.

Bob McKenzie's 2021 final draft rankings - TSN.ca
Six of 10 scouts surveyed by TSN for the final draft rankings had Lambos in their top 32, as high as No. 16 in one instance, but four others had him well down the list into the second round, some closer to 60 than 33.

This is so absurd. I'd love whoever those scouts are to tell me who the 50 or so players in this draft that are supposedly better than Lambos. Even having him outside the 1st round as 4 of the scouts surveyed has seems rather strange in a draft which is already lacking in 1st round quality prospects.

I just don't get it. What am I missing with this player that these scouts see as red flags? Like I get the concern that he might not have the highest upside but he has a high floor and is very good in almost every area of the game. Would be very surprising to me if he doesn't end up a good 2nd pair D at least. So what gives?

Other than goalie, obvious need.

What type of forward does oilers lack in our prospect pool?

Agitator?
Sniper?
Power Foward?
Two way forward?
Defensive forward?
PP/PK specialist?

Edit: If Wallstedt or Cossa are available and they still pick a forward...I will be stunned speechless, that will be the line where I will reassess my evaluation of the current management.

Just under 24 hours until we get this show on the road. I think some of the hype we usually see is being overshadowed by the expansion draft and free agency.

RIP to the Cossa dream
I remember people thinking it would be unlikely to see Askarov drop out of the top 10 last year, but teams are adverse to taking goalies.

I would be very surprised to see 2 goalies taken in the top 15, at the very least I think we will be sweating a bit on the “Cossa dream” around pick 16-19

I know very little about this draft aside from Cossa, so whoever we draft tomorrow.. I'd have to check what fans say about him here.
