The Series vs Germany​

The U.S. and Germany meet for the 22nd time in the history of the IIHF Men's World Championship here today. Team USA has a 13-0- 1-4-3 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) advantage, including a five-game winning streak. In the last meeting between the two teams, the U.S. rallied for a 3-2 victory after trailing 2-1 in the third.

Puck drops at 11:20AM Eastern, with USA wearing the White Sweaters as they are the home team.

The game in the prelims was 50/50. Germany has a very good team for this tournament. I hope the U.S. sticks to its identity of strong skating/puck moving and aggressive on the forecheck. Need a full 60 minute effort here.

Germany is on a heater, that JJ Peterka fella is pretty good at hockey. So is the rest of their team. The days of Germany being a pushover at this tournament are over for the most part.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Samberg plays c;

only 21 meetings in 80+ editions? That is surprisingly low. I'm guessing this doesn't count games against West/East Germany.

USA's Achilles heel. 0-11 in the Semifinals since the switch to the current format. This team has played well, but we will see if they can break the drought.
