Petteri Sihvonen is a clown. If he was even halfway competent, the amount of coaching jobs on his resume wouldn't be only slightly greater than the amount of good ideas on his average column.

Luckily, thinking that Lauri Mikkola was a bad hire and thinking that Sihvonen is a clown are not mutually exclusive.

"Finnish humor" as a friend used to say. That last line is a classic.

Didn't get to see Finland as much I'd have liked during this tournament and apologize if this comes across as backseat driving. Meant to comment earlier but had an unexpected hiatus.

Was just doing a perusal of the Western Hockey League and noticed that Julius Hiettinen is having a nice season for Everett. The Silvertips have a very strong team - which may explain his numbers - but was wondering if Hiettinen received any interest from the people preparing Finland's team?

And in retrospect, would his presence have made a difference in whether Finland earned a medal?

No, Miettinen hasn't played any U20 practice games this season. He played 5 Hlinka-Gretzky games, and has scored 1 goal in that tournament. Miettinen is also 17 and he could have not outplay Helenius, Lassila, Kumpulainen, Keskinen or Bau. And Miettinen couldn't help this team in anyway.
