Well.... Brisebois is Briseboising.

For the here and now. But it is a steep return for what Jeannot has done this season, and if anyone can make Cal Foote what he was supposed to be, it is Nashville.

Meh. Tampa had to get into the arms race with all the other teams making moves eventually. If this is their biggest add, it's not particularly imposing.
Oh yes it is, lol.

Nick Paul wasn't supposed to be particularly imposing. Once they jolt Jeannot with whatever Frankenstein formula they give their role players, he's going to dutifully wear down our always thin defence.

And he'll probably do it on a line with Paul and we're not going to have the horses to answer.

That's a move Toronto makes just to stymie Tampa.

Naive on my part most likely, but when you're Tampa, you just need to add Jeannot and Paul and the like to the elite talent in front of them and it's another analogous table where the guy on the other side knows he just has to lean on us long enough because we can't match up.

I can't rationalize this payment from the Lightning at all. They gave up 5 draft picks and a prospect for a guy with 14 points in 57 games. Just downright insanity.
Contract status is big. If Tampa can sign him long term for cheap, he becomes invaluable. Tampa can bring up Jeannot's stats for sure. The 3rd, 4th, 5th is whatever. Who cares about those picks. Foote needs play time and he wasn't getting it in Tampa. Top 10 protected first is kind of shocking. and a 2nd next year.

Its not really as obscene considering Nashville's offense is next to zero this year and Jeannot's points reflect that.

If this trade had happened last season with how Jeannot was performing, everyone would be like ''it's a fair price''. Jeannot's offensive game probably lies somewhere in-between last year and this year.

Kind of handcuffs any trade for the short term future for the Lightning. They will probably have to get rid of prospects. They will have basically no draft picks to attach.

It’s a complete joke that Jeannot returned this much.
