This clearly has Gorton written all over it, AV loves loves LOVES this wounded puppy who cuddles up to him at home but is useless at the office. AV's quote was "for salary cap considerations" so there's always a chance he can convince Gorton to call him up if there's an injury or some sort of roster change. Gotta find a way to get him on someone else's NHL/AHL roster permanently
Keep in mind Glass had to be waived because of the cap issue, not because you think he sucks. The risk of losing him was close to zero anyway, most teams don't have room for his contract right now.

Link?AV already confirmed he will be back at some point.
He'd be first in line if he wasn't out of position all the time.
I count at least 21 teams with at least 1.45 million in cap space (and his actual hit would be less than that, right? pro-rated?).
He cleared because he's bad and nobody wants him.
Those who do have some cap space may have other plans than picking up a 4th liner with 2yrs/3M left on his contract..
Btw, how many players have actually been claimed this year? Looks like they all clear.
I didn't know Stalberg was bad.And what about the teams with 10 million? If Glass does what people say he does (protect/deter/etc.), wouldn't those teams, many of whom have numerous young players, want such a fellow?
There's a reason for that. Players who go on waivers are usually bad players. Go figure.
If AV only cared about adding toughness than McIlrath would be playing over Boyle every game. Complete bull statement to make.Bull back to your bull, there's no way this came from AV. Gorton was the guy who finally forced him out. AV doesn't care about the depth charts when it comes to Glass, he only cares about "adding toughness and locker room presence"

Glass will be a very good AHLer. To say that he'd score only 30-40 points in the ECHL is nuts. Michael Kantor is scoring at a point per game pace in the ECHL and he can't even notch his first AHL point. Glass would be a superstar in the ECHL if he went down there.
As someone who follows Hartford, I'm pretty excited to see him there. He'll be a key power forward for the Pack. I think he'll help Hartford a lot if he plays there.
Had an assist last night...
On an empty net goal
I think it says something good about Tanners character when he goes down to the AHL after such a long time in the NHL without public complaining, and makes a good effort down there.
